@thatrexguy Weve hired a manager that isnt very adaptable either so if we dont buy, it will be square pegs in round holes for the whole season/until hes no longer in charge. Feel very bearish on the season unfortunately
@BackseatsmanLFC I know Iraola is probably a bit 'lucky' to have gotten the job, but man I'd be quite annoyed with how stuff has shaken out. WC makes life difficult with late returns to begin with but to have so many ?s over the current players and have 4-5 holes in the squad too. Tough start
@Micks2B If we get two wingers then Gakpo to Spurs is done/he's off. The manager said the other day we need one more winger (not multiple). I think it's way more likely we sign just one with Gapko staying as ST cover for Eki and as a rotational option out wide
@CalvLyfeson Not gonna lie, is Richard Hughes a massive fraud and our whole op is one big nepo ring?
Edwards hired his mate
Hughes spunked 400m, and is in process of selling every semi promising academy / HG player
Hughes to hire his mate from Bournemouth
...
Doesn't look great
@CalvLyfeson Ive been trying to wrap my head round it. Weve been ~mediocre for 13 months. Theres been no upward trend. They must know things we dont re 'challenges'. It cant just be about DJ.
It just doesnt add up to me at all. On top of all that, he has just 1 year left on his own deal!
@Micks2B I can see us getting annihilated over two legs against PSG, like 7-1 on agg and I think regardless of what happens in the league, being hopelessly uncompetitive vs City / PSG late in the season will be seen as regression. I really hope we win but struggle to see how right now
@AnfieldSector I mean is this really that unexpected? We play terribly most games so no surprise we play a good side and they run a bit hot and we're getting smoked. I think weve been lucky to avoid a 4/5 nil given weve played well less than 10 times this season.
@Micks2B The actions don't quite allign though. He hasn't signed a new deal and come summer he'll be in his last year, which isn't common for a manager that 'has the full backing of the club'. I remain skeptical until that's announced

@LFCData i think i'm interpreting this as both being possibly sent packing this summer if i'm honest. ME hired Hughes so he wouldn't have to do all the transfer stuff and now the MCO idea is gone I don't know why he'd want to stick around.
@Micks2B Wholeheartedly backed managers do not have their contract run into the final year. No matter how anyone dresses it up, if they really believe he was the guy, he'd have signed a multi year extension by now.
@IanDoyleSport Its honestly the same story, every team sets up the same and the manager cannot come up with anything meaningful. This is an awful result
