One of the great cultural assets in our area! The Homeplace is a tribute to Butcher Holler's cultural significance and the enduring spirit of the Lynn family. It's a testament to the resilience and determination that paved the way for one of the greatest voices in country music!

Roadways are like arteries β keeping the lifeblood of the commonwealth moving. Four-laning the Mountain Parkway in Eastern Kentucky will bring new life into this special region and sustain it for years to come.
Wayland is also a model for resilience. The city has delt with catastrophic flooding and population decline but that has not wavered the spirits of the city and its Mayor, Jerry Fultz. If you've never been to Wayland, it is a must-see destination! https://t.co/vNy6Lr74mc
The @MtnSportsHoF located in the Historic Wayland gymnasium has memorabilia representing decades of high school athletics in Appalachia. "King" Kelly Coleman spent his high school years playing in this gym where he broke numerous records including the state's all-time scoring.
The Big Sandy Area boasts many great outdoor recreation opportunities, but the Dawkins Line Rail Trail really stands out! At 36 miles long the Dawkins Line is the longest rail-to-trail in the state!

On Tuesday we held our 59th annual board meeting. It was a special opportunity to recap all of the work done in our 5 counties the last year and look forward to the opportunities the next year holds! Ohhh, and we also eat pretty good too!
We want to take a moment to thank all of the first responders, road workers, and public servants that have been working tirelessly to clear roads and keep us safe during these snowy times!
Old Wayland Gym was packed last night to see Travis Perry and Lyon County play Floyd Central.
As @PolacheckKSR writes, Perry gave them quite a show, scoring 30 points on King Kelly Coleman's old court.

Kentucky's landscape and history prove that flooding, fires and tornadoes are an unfortunate inevitability of the place we call home.
