YOU CAN LEARN A LOT ABOUT A BASEBALL PLAYER WHEN SOMEBODY ELSE GETS THE BIG HIT.

Don’t watch the kid rounding the bases.

WATCH THE DUGOUT.

Who’s over the fence losing his mind?

Who’s halfway to home plate before the ball even lands?

Who’s screaming for the guy who took his spot in the lineup?

And who’s sitting on the bench pissed off…

because he wishes it was him?

That right there?

THAT’S CULTURE.

Everybody’s a great teammate when they’re 3 for 4.

Show me the kid who went hitless…

lost his starting job…

and is STILL the first dude out of the dugout when his teammate goes deep.

THAT’S THE GUY I WANT.

Because talent can make a lineup dangerous.

But when 20 guys genuinely give a damn about the other 19?

NOW YOU’VE GOT A BASEBALL TEAM.

Ever see a high school underclassman that looks like he is going to be a college all American and he turns out to be a baseball nothing.
Ever see an average high school player that turns out to be a college all American?
Ever see a D1 signee not get on the field because he is not good enough and has to drop down a level and is average.
Ever see a little league superstar that is not good enough to play in high school?
Ever see an average undersized high school freshman become the best player and prospect on the team when he is a senior?
Ever see a Perfect Game 7 that is better than a Perfect Game 10 in college or professional baseball?
Ever see a non ranked player play in the big leagues and a 10 couldn't even get playing time in college?

These things happen all the time.
The million dollar questions college recruiters and pro scouts should be asking.
Is the player trending up or down?
Is the player addicted to strength and conditioning?
Is the player all in at being the very best he can be?
Is the player hungry and competitive?
Is the player consuming the right information or is he a high school big leaguer?
Will he outwork everyone on my team?
Is he smart enough to understand the team concept?

College baseball is full of players every season that come out of nowhere that very few recruited that become all Americans. They were underdogs that refused to be out worked and out competed. They were the hungry players that refused to believe others were better than them.

The best of the best recruiters and scouts sign players that are trending up.
