(1/3) Exciting news! Introducing highly selective next-generation norepinephrine (NE) GRAB sensors! Our optimized fluorescent NE sensors possess 1000-fold selectivity over DA and a 4-fold increase in behavior-stimulated in vivo signals compared to previous prototypes.
1/3 New serotonin (5-HT) GRAB sensors! We developed largely-improved green and all-new red genetically encoded fluorescent 5-HT sensors for dual-color imaging in vivo. Using these new 5-HT sensors, we are able to simultaneously monitor 5-HT and other neurochemicals.
thank you @elfylandstudios for this beautiful illustration of flies finding each other using smell. check out the full story here https://t.co/cqem6sSRsA
Officially started my first week @WUSTLneurosci. Lab website is up and we will hire at all levels very soon! Plz spread the word and stay tuned😄#newPI https://t.co/9iN4ATpeeM
@GaliliDana@yulonglilab@NeuroCellPress@XuelinLi1 @PaulSzyszka Thanks for your pioneering and fantastic exploration. I was curious how you came up with the idea of ascending v.s. descending pairing? That is amazing!
We are thrilled to share our latest biological finding published with @NeuroCellPress that "Local 5-HT signaling bi-directionally regulates the coincidence time window for associative learning"!
Big congrats to @BigTree_Zeng, @XuelinLi1!
Check it out

1/4 New discovery from Yulong Li Lab! We found that 5-HT regulates the coincidence time window of one-trial olfactory learning in both behavior and circuitry plasticity levels. #coincidence time window #olfactory_learning#GRAB_sensors
China has lifted its 76-day lockdown on Wuhan! The city is now recovering from the outbreak, and slowly returning to normal. The day before, we also welcomed home the return of #PKU affiliated hospital medical workers, who formed the relief teams that had been stationed in Wuhan.
@KidneyMyosin@joachimgoedhart I think most Olympus fluoview files can be opened with Fiji through the built-in plug-in “bio-format”. If not, you can also try to download “OlympusimageJplugin” and use it through Fiji.
@chrismacalister Oppositely, people who wears one might get judged in this cultural norm, which also causes compliance. Since both aspects cause compliance, why do they chose one good for public health? BTW, do you have any idea what is the origin for such cultural norm?
First twitter not about science. Can anyone tell me what cultural or historical reasons making people in some area intuitively refusing to wear face mask? By knowing the #CODVID19 attacking respiration system, I feel it is a common sense. No offense. No offense. No offense.
@chrismacalister Back to my original question, you mean there is no specific historical or cultural reasons prompting people refusing to wear mask, they do so just because not taking the virus seriously. Is that the answer?
@chrismacalister Totally agree we need to leave masks to people like front line medical staffs. But the protective effect of mask is not all-or-none, wearing a none-N95 mask (even bandana) will also increase your safe rate. I still confuse why we do not see people wearing bandana all around?
