@_dolphincollin5 @the_transit_guy Not all parts of the system are hardened to that level, though. I believe BART looked at retrofitting the Caldecott Tunnel some years ago and decided it would be faster and cheaper to just re-bore it after an event.

@the_transit_guy After the 89 earthquake, I believe the Corps of Engineers dredged an emergency dock for the ferries at Berkeley in something like 2 days to re-run the service.

@HannahRKeyser Thank you, Hannah, this was a great article. Have you seen the same issues cropping up with kids in non-pitching positions? My boys love playing baseball, but this is exactly the kind of thing I’m worried about for them.

@HaveYouGotItYet @Furmadamadam Good question; I’ve never seen it up there, but I’ve also never looked for it up there, so I’m not sure. I would imagine it would probably be on small commercial buildings in the downtowns there if it existed.
