I am so excited to announce the next partner in Project OpticalShift. @hueforge is in the project and a 3rd party plugin is being developed by me. The plugin will be developed using the same technique as the on for CMYKForge and will be available for free.
Today, I welcome a new member to Project OpticalShift; 3D Prints by Vic. Vic joined the project yesterday and I am so excited to include him in this journey.
More people coming soon.
Introducing OpticalShift, a new CMYKForge project.
It brings a holographic tilt effect to 3D prints, like those bookmarks that change color or design as you turn them. Ridge geometry + CMYK color-mixing lets a print look lighter, darker, warmer, cooler, or totally different by angle.
Built on my 0.6 color engine with a new 3D visualizing system. Idea sparked by The 3D Print Bunny on July 14. Starts closed, then invite-only beta, waitlist, public release.
I’ll publish my methods, research, and numbers along the way.

Print What You See.
I just updated the entire Standard page to better align with CMYKForge. That was bad (made with opus 4.8 ) please go look at this. Opus 5.5 has great taste with my help.
I just added a CMY-AI assistant on the website.
Ask it anything about CMYKForge, and when it doesn't know, it provides a direct link to email [email protected].
What Powers CMY-AI.
CMY-AI on the web uses GPT-6 Luna, loaded with information about CMYKForge. That said, this is still an LLM. Do not give it sensitive information and do not rely on it for data outside of CMYKForge.
Safeguards in Place.
GPT-6 Luna is a well-aligned model, and is not easy to trick into saying or doing certain things. This was shown in my testing. I have put in a limit of five messages per minute. If you go over that limit several times, you could get flagged for abuse and be blocked from using CMY-AI.
Model Updates and Improving.
This assistant's knowledge is going to be updated weekly in the internal files and it will be able to pull information directly from CMYKForge's X page. I am working on a way for users to opt in to letting me see chats with it and improve CMY-AI records. Chat sharing will be turned off by default when rolled out.
CMY-AI in the Pro Tier.
CMY-AI in the app will still be using Qwen 3.I don’t want to require an internet connection if it can run offline. GPT-6 Luna can't be run locally and is not needed for this work. Using GPT-6 Luna on the web version is easier to maintain and host than running a smaller model like Qwen 3.
Availability.
You can try it out now on https://t.co/iwnCoSBufE or https://t.co/P5VhRQmdxR. I will be making changes to things such as the interface and what the model accecpts and returns for the next couple of days, alongside work in 0.6.

Print What You See.
What do we think about a merch line? I have been talking with some local places that could make them and I want to know your opinions! If we like the idea, I will make some designs and show them.
CMYKForge 0.6 is our next version.
On October 27, we’ll reveal what’s next and share the details on our website. Product access will follow, with Kickstarter backers first.
