Did Mercedes Benz shut down access to a Franklin canyon public park in LA for 2 weeks?
@MRCAParks what is going on in Franklin canyon park right now?
100s people using the park every day - armed guards didn’t let us pass. (Old photo of film set)
Make a statement - ty!
In response to the killing of 4 Pepperdine students last year by a reckless driver, multiple other high profile crashes resulting in death, countless injuries @CaltransDist7 has put up:
Paint on PCH to address speeding/reckless driving
Incredibly sad and ineffective.
@santamonicacity Driver on San Vicente going 70+ thru one of these as I was in the crosswalk
Occurs daily, when are we putting in speeding cameras? You know they’d fix the problem - studies back this up.
He ran the stop sign by passing over the stop line and then premeditated his crime to assault someone with his vehicle then actually turned the wheel towards the person and accelerated with so much force the tires skidded.
@SantaMonicaPD intervene now
I might not sound like it, but this terrified the hell out of me. I guess he succeeded. I’m so f-int tired of this… 😔
I also love how having video evidence of people threatening you with a deadly weapon for no reason basically does nothing. They can just keep doing it.
Vote yes on HLA, this statistic is a failure of people repeatedly prioritizing single occupancy vehicle speed over anything else, time to change that @LADOTofficial
I can’t not see this as negligence keeping something like this operational!?
@ladot you need to slow down vehicles asap / close this down
This is a major crash waiting to happens
Sidewalks are flooded and ambulances are a pretty steady sight these last few hours. #Rain is coming in sideways from the rain. #LARain#Californiastorm
@mirijulip Incredibly sad response, completely ineffective allowing further death to occur.
Many more will die this year and tens more than that injured. These officials who make these decisions need to understand their role in all this.
@TheRideshareGuy Oh for sure and I’m glad that’s there as well, but there are easily 40 people walking this road at once as exercise, for social interactions, etc on a typical mid day here.
cars pose a huge threat and these pedestrians belong there more.
The signs at #culvercitystairs portray the pedestrians as “criminals” for walking in the #Baldwinhillsscenic overlook park just south of Culver City, CA.
The entire danger of this park is car drivers! So many pedestrians daily using this path!
@schneider@latimes@healthystreetla I’m so glad people like @schneider continuously over years work to make streets in LA safer. Big thanks to you all,
Definitely feel like the ‘20s of LA will see the end of the dangerous inefficient movement of people in large metal boxes and healthier more efficient modes.
Heads up, #Angelenos! Multiple overnight closures are planned on I-110 between I-10 and Exposition Blvd from Jan. 26 to Jan. 28. Expect full closure on Saturday night for pedestrian bridge demolition. Check detour maps and plan ahead.
