Nancy Hoover Pohl Overlook at Fryman Canyon will be CLOSED Friday Morning, February 13, 2026 for Tree Work.
Please plan to utilize an alternate parking area for access the Betty B. Dearing trail. The overlook will reopen to vehicles once the tree work is complete.

Rangers placed signs and tape at the various trailheads denoting the closure late Monday night.
The high fire weather conditions are expected to last thru Wed 10/29, although the closures may be extended if conditions persist.
In anticipation of the predicted red flag wind and heat conditions, the following parklands are closed until further notice for public safety:

A tsunami advisory is in effect for LA County with expected impacts to beaches, harbors, ports, and waterways beginning around 1 a.m. on Wednesday, July 30. Please stay away from these areas due to strong currents/waves in or near coastal waters.
According to the U.S. Tsunami Warning Center, waves of 1 foot or less are expected to reach LA beaches and waterways. The advisory is now issued for the entire west coast and it is the middle tier of the Tsunami Warning Center’s alert system.

@LAFD Actually, the entire fire ended up burning outside of the open space parkland boundaries, most likely on private property. We manage a narrow swath of land on the hill known as Elephant Hill. Chief Ranger Gomez was onsite to confirm.
