@OisinKyne@rostyketh ETH at 5?
Are these numbers drawn up based on 33% stake for both chains? Because it’s a very big difference what happens to these chains at this threshold. ETH doesn’t require finality to continue building blocks.
@barnabemonnot@DCinvestor Yes, let’s get faster slots in as soon as possible.
Huge benefits now with the increased scalability and fast confirmation rule.
Are there any projects similar to Bitcoin or Ethereum that have been successful? Any with a fair launch model?
It seems like all the projects that gain traction went a completely different direction because i don't think it is possible to launch in a similar way or beat either one in the area's they valued from the beginning.
It was a design decision that originally had a purpose and people use it to send out misleading stats.
It’s just as ridiculous as counting Solana votes as “TPS” in my opinion.
Both networks are impressive for handling the extra workload as it’s real in terms of what the chains are processing but fake if we’re looking at stats to claim how well a chain is doing.
To be fair, while other chains are great at scaling, they aren't better across the board. They all have issues that will take years to fix or made decisions that cant be changed or undone.
How about we tighten the focus—are there specific competitors you want to call out by name?
@jolie6666@TokenizedDollar@grok Meanwhile everything else except Bitcoin is even further from ATH’s unless it’s a new project.
I’ll take the stablecoin right now.
@0xcyp What's worst case scenario for both?
Saylor could dump lots of Bitcoin on the market.
Tom Lee doesn't own nearly enough to do any harm staking and would be slashed even if he did and he can't dump because he would be stuck waiting in the exit queue.
Am i missing anything?
It’s great to finally hear some numbers; 200M is a huge increase, but I thought ePBS alone would allow for an increase of this size.
I was expecting something around 300–500M after Glamsterdam. Is this just a conservative starting point followed by other large increases prior to Hegota?
@SolanaSensei@calilyliu@yo_itsmatt I agree but let’s not forget how Vitalik stepped up for Solana when things were rough. We need more of that energy and way less tribalism—the constant infighting just makes the whole space look bad to outsiders.

Some smart people tell me there is an earnest smart developer community in Solana, and now that the awful opportunistic money people have been washed out, the chain has a bright future.
Hard for me to tell from outside, but I hope the community gets its fair chance to thrive🦾🦾
@Investanswers The fact that the gap is that large shows how flawed this metric is. How is transaction count alone valuable at all?
Total Transaction Fee's would be far more valuable as it shows how much people are willing to pay to use the chain every day.
@Polymarket Tether
Looking through the comments and seems like people don’t realize this includes stablecoins.
Tether and other stablecoins are going up while the rest of the market goes down.
In a few years? That chart goes back 10+ years.
Most were sold within the first 2-3 years. Every part of this statement is exaggerated and inaccurate because he held less than 700k and still holds more than 200k.
What do you think other founders that took much larger allocations are doing with their tokens?
At the end of the day Vitalik owns roughly 0.20% of the supply. How much does him selling really matter when guys like Tom Lee are trying to buy 5% of the supply.
This is an MEV bot that overpaid to price out competing MEV bots.
It’s also not a single transaction it contains 54 swaps.
They could have paid 0.18 gwei and completed this transaction but paid 5,815 gwei intentionally to MAKE MONEY and price out the competition.

Gas Units Used * (Base Fee + Priority Fee)
How does the price of Ethereum matter if EIP-1559 adjusts the base fee, which acts as a multiplier.
Your transaction cost are solely based on what users are willing to pay at that moment. The price of Ethereum will only play a role once the lowest possible denomination is hit on the base fee, which has never happened. It's a self correcting mechanism to keep block space at 50% full.
Currently the network is at 0.24gwei. Theoretical limit is 0.000000007gwei (7wei).
@etherealize9@0xcyp@VitalikButerin You pay what people are willing to spend to be included in the block.
Ethereum’s price is not directly correlated with transaction cost.
