@Primary_Pivot @ForecasterEnten@CNN This analysis understates Haley's chances because it doesn't consider the possibility that Haley and one of Trump's other challengers together win a majority of delegates. Were this to happen, Haley and the other candidate could form a ticket and win at a brokered convention.
My name is Bill Tidd. I live in New Hampshire. I am going to vote in New Hampshire’s Republican primary on January 23rd because I believe the best and perhaps only way to prevent Donald Trump from being re-elected president is to defeat him in the primaries. @Primary_Pivot
Race for DFL - Once we were out on the course and knew we were the last two runners, we talked about the finish for the first time. Our original 48-50 lap goal didn’t make sense to either of us.
We shocked everyone when we arrived at the finish and told them we were done. No one wanted us to stop. Amy, the race director, said we should flip a coin to see who would continue and win. John did a good job explaining our decision.
Race for DFL - The 4th place runner dropped after completing the 25th lap. The third place runner, Jason, (with whom we had some very nice visits) told us he was planning to drop after the 26th lap.
As we were nearing the end of the 26th lap, John asked what my thoughts were about finishing the race. It was the first time we had talked about it. I suggested we wait and discuss it on the next lap.
Race for DFL - As the field narrowed, people began to wonder what our plan was if we were the last two runners. Our goal was to run 50 hours, but we hadn’t talked about how we would handle the end of the race.
My daughter, Danielle, asked: “Will they be cute and dramatic and both stop at the same time so they both win? Or will they be competitive brothers and start tripping each other when it gets down to the two of them? 😂”
In Sunday morning, one of the other racers caught up to us and asked if one of us had set the record for the NH-48 and if the other had recently run a 300K race. The word was out.
Race for DFL - At the beginning of the race, we were finishing our laps near the back of the pack. As the race progressed, we gradually moved up in the pack, despite running the same
pace. By the end of the night, we were finishing the laps first.
At the beginning of the night, one of my brothers asked in the family chat, “I wonder if the other runners have any idea who they’re up against?” I don’t think they did at the time, but someone did some research on Strava…
Race for DFL - We had the best setup. An event tent with zero gravity recliners, cook stove, propane heater and lights. We also had a tent for sleeping. John ran one fast loop and tried and failed to sleep in the tent. Neither is us slept during the race.
