I’ve seen & endured enough: after this thread, I’m removing the Twitter app from my phone. It’s been a good 15 year run. You can find me at link in bio.
I'm over on that other app that rhymes with "heads," banging out a bunch about Sinead that once upon a time i would have shared here. Just a reminder to please join me over there, and leave the douchery of Twitter behind. Like I did months ago. One of the best decisions Ive made.

Y’all were my besties for some of the biggest moments of my career and life, good times and bad. I feel so much gratitude to so many of you. Thank you. -30-
Anyway, I’m not deactivating my account. I just won’t be here for now. Maybe one day I’ll return. I hope you’ll connect with me on LinkedIn or Instagram. And if you’ve valued my music business insights, consider following along at Full Rate No Cap. https://t.co/gC25quhZzc
@michaelgbaron Honestly, as a Phillies lifer, I’d rather the Mets spent $40m on DeGrom than on a pitcher who will actually, you know, pitch. Only a big blow if they don’t get one of the other big fish out there.
We've finally reached the "Hitler was the victim" level of discourse. Make it stop. I've always cherished and literally fought for freedom of speech, but my god does it feel like there has to be a better answer than this.
@magicbeans In retrospect, it wasn’t writing I ever hated. It was failure, or comparing myself to others, or all sorts of other unhealthy BS. Whenever I could clear that all out of my mind and focus on the simple act of learning, thinking and expressing… I got back to the joy.
@magicbeans It’s hard though, once you’ve commercialized a creative passion. When I was a freelance journalist for five years, I wrote about almost literally everything but I kept food sacred. The one thing I could enjoy and not be tempted to think about work/money.
@magicbeans I’ve written all or parts of scores of songs over the years, and never showed a soul, let alone recorded or played them. This is an extreme version of what you’re sharing, I think. But I just genuinely love to puzzle out words and sounds that way.
