Five year NFL Consensus Draft grades by team. It's really no surprise the Ravens and Eagles are at the top.
And the 49ers and Jaguars once again rounding out the rear...
Okay, I have dunked on Brandon Beane the past 48 hours pretty solidly.
I think how this all went down is pretty wild.
I don't take back any of what I said, and I still think he should be canned too.
But I don't think he is a BAD GM, at all. I think he's good.
My whole thing was always that the successes and failures of the team were on both McDermott AND Beane, and their lifespan in the organization should have been tied together as well.
There's clearly lots of disagreement as to Bills' decision re: who went / who stayed
one thing I think everyone can agree on
*something* needed to change
Beane was more responsible for the Bills falling short this year by not equipping them with a strong enough roster
BUT
McDermott was more responsible for Buffalo’s playoff shortcomings in prior years.
I would’ve cleaned house by firing both of them if change was needed.
When we hired Sean we kept Whaley. Made it seem like he was staying, drafted a great draft (Tre, Dion, Milano, Teller) and then fired him I think the day or two after the draft. Really hoping this is the same. Keep him there so he doesn’t leak anything, cut him his check, then start fresh
@luistres3@ByJerrySullivan For me , Beane has to go too .... but they are saying he will stay, they had a lot of frictions the last couple of years, we needed a change, any change at this point.
McDermott would have been fired before this in cities with a higher standard. The "but who do we get to replace him?" argument is typical small-time Buffalo thinking. As for Beane, he should also be on a short lease, but he'll no longer work with a head coach who has more power.
