Another managing gem by Don Kelly
1. The thing that bothered me most was pinch hitting for Ozuna after he had 3 quality at bats. I personally can't stand Ozuna, but I'm rooting for him to do well for the team's sake. The guy sat out 4 straight games and when it finally looks like a fire was lit under his ass, the great Don Kelly pinch hits him. Let him FKin hit!!
2. Pinch hitting for Davis at the end was also pathetic.
Davis played a grueling entire game and was into the game flow, not to mention hitting a grand slam earlier.
Let him FKin hit!!!
3. The Astros have a very tough lineup, and especially matchup well vs lefties with all the righthanded batters.
He should have brought in the right-hander Boudis to start the 8th.
Not starting Boudis in the 8th, forced him to hit the panic button and bring Soto in early. Now Soto is not available today.
Kelly manages entirely on matchups with no feel or game flow involved, yet he went away from it in the most crucial moment.
Kelly has single handedly blown multiple games.
If any other manager is in there, they are 8 to 10 games over 500.
Frustrating to say the least. @bochmx
While the Myles Garrett trade was beneficial to both teams:
-Another bottom feeding season coming for Browns
-Rams overwhelming favorites to win SB
AJ Brown trade makes me just as bullish on Pats as Bills
After giving it a lot of thought and getting feedback. I am putting off making a football preview podcast until after I return from the WSOP. Will be toward the end of July.
Starting Week 1, the podcast will feature-
-Zack, Professor and myself
-3 celebrity guests
-Zack and I will do a 2nd podcast on Sunday AM
Very excited about the upcoming NFL season
NFL thoughts
Teams I am very bullish on
1. Detroit
2. Minnesota
3. Buffalo
Teams I am very bearish on
1. Green Bay
2. Jacksonville
3. Giants
Bottom feeders that will be better
1. Tennessee
2. Raiders
3. Cincinnati
Good teams that take a step back
1. Green Bay
2. Jacksonville
3. Denver
-Whoever gets AJ Brown is upgraded
-I like Pittsburgh if O-Line looks good in pre-season
-People are selling Indy, but I like them if Jones is ok
-Carolina has a brutal schedule, but they are improved
Huge win for the Buccos last night!!! Go Bucs
@SharpFootball Im not sure about the others but John Harbaugh's play calling inside the 10 was horriffic. I would bet anything Jackson improves this year. The same cant be said about Dart.
Observations at Bucco game last night
1. Everyone cringes when Ozuna steps to the plate. He's the biggest killjoy I can ever remember on any Pirate team.
2. They started changing the bullpen to the good, but more needs done. Ramirez and Lawrence can never be trusted to enter a close game.
3. O'Niel Cruz has insane exit velocity.
He is not a center fielder. I'm not sure you can even hide him in right or left but that would be better than center. That said, I love him in the lineup even though he strikes out a lot. His hustle could stand for improvement as well.
4. On a beautiful night at PNC, the attendance was only 12,400. Kind of embarrassing for the quality team they have vs Cubs.
5. I was pretty proud of myself eating wise. Only ate a half bag of peanuts and a pirate helmet dippin dots.
Way down from past performances.
6. Endy Rodriguez is a breath of fresh air behind the plate. 4 walks last night, he gives a competative AB every time. When Bart comes back, Pirates will either trade him or send Davis to AAA.
7. Skenes needs a good outing today against a very tough Cubs lineup. Go Bucs!!!
Don't fret, a football preview is coming
He is pushing this rest bullshit way too far. While it is something to monitor before the season, once the season starts, the rest disadvantage will never be mentioned again until next year's schedule release.
It does help him sell books and push his service though, I will give him that.
@bochmx I dont think Griffin is ready to leadoff yet. I actually think the manager is handling him very well. Eventually he will be a great leadoff hitter once he gets more experience.
Dont want him out of his comfort zone this early.
Pirates update
-With a 2 hit day, we are probably stuck with Ozuna for at least another month
-Don Kelly continues to put Cruz in the leadoff spot. I like Cruz a lot, but he strikes out way too much to be a leadoff hitter. I like him in the 5 spot vs Righties and 6-7 spot vs lefties.
- Nick Gonzales is probably the best leadoff candidate on the team as he is ascending into a very good player who will demand a big future pay hike that the Bucs probably won't pay.
Nice bounce back by the Bucs the last 2 days, this Toronto series is going to be tough even with Skenes going Saturday. @bochmx
Football coming soon
@JoshuaArieh@Kalshi@Polymarket@survivorcbs Agree 100%. There is also a fallacy that everything they offer is a better deal than bookmakers. If you think that is true check out the NFL win totals on Kalshi.
