Sometimes you didn't ask the question that you thought you did. I'm pretty sure that every teacher does this at some point. If it's anyone's mistake, it's our own. Never penalize a student for not seeing things the way you expected them to.

@MelllindaM I honestly wish I could tell you. If anything you might do cross curriculum stuff with actual math teachers in history. But like you will almost never need math itself, or at least none that I can imagine is going to be on the proficiency test

Although there was tech issues, initial feedback shows students enjoyed being able to collaborate and bounce a variety of ideas off each other. Definitely gonna try to work out the tech bugs and try again

First attempt at a Group Assessment today. Students have been working in a thinking classroom; had them solve this WODB question (create a new function to complete the puzzle) and discuss all their understanding.

Having my 11C kids work in breakout rooms has been a success so far. The students are becoming more comfortable working with each other and are taking risks (it’s only day 3). #math #vss

How do you get a Data Games Day to operate? Just set up breakout rooms and let the two cohorts have fun. Both in class and the at home students are really enjoying getting to interact with each other and play some games #data #math

It’s Wednesday evening & I’ve taught 900 minutes with 105 minutes of prep. My students are wonderful 😊 but this pace is unsustainable in terms of wellbeing.
I also spent the first 2 hours of my day believing it was Thursday, aka my day for bringing @TimHortons #SmileCookie ✅🤦🏻‍♀️

Yeah, not going to happen @Sflecce. You try doing our job and see what it would be like without prep. I already go home almost every night after 5:30 when the day is done at 2:50 and start working again at 10:00pm. Oh and on most weekends. I think that’s enough unpaid time.

Cannot possible see how this makes sense. I’ve got 2 4C math classes with a number of them working factory jobs all day right now. When do you expect them to have time to be apart of synchronous. They need flexibility to work under these unprecedented times

Been doing video lessons for all my classes. I’ve refused to let Kay watch any of them. Tonight I made her a deal. Since she hates math I said she could watch them if she does the grade 9 practice. Never seen her hard at work on math 😂😂 #motivation
