My opinion is that Sergei Bobrovsky can still help a team win a Cup, but it needs to be the right situation.
He needs a strong goalie partner capable of 45% of the starts, to keep him fresh for the postseason when his athleticism pays off the most.
If someone signs him to be a workhorse at 38, it’s probably not going to go well, but in the right circumstances he can absolutely be a difference maker for a championship team.
Is Pete a great defender? No, but Vientos wasn’t a good defender at his primary position of 3rd. Polanco, who doesn’t even play, isn’t good at his primary position of 2nd so can’t imagine he’ll be good at 1st. Playing people where they don’t belong leads to errors and sloppy play
Really improved the defense with those offseason moves. Real fucking genius we got running this team @StevenACohen2 Pete is doing great. Nimmo is solid. And most importantly they are on the field unlike Robert and Polanco. Call up Clifford so we have something to be excited about
"I mean, what do you say at this point? I mean, this team is in the depths of despair, can't get starting pitching to hold the other team at bay, struggling with their offense, and now the defense falls apart. SIX infield errors. Unprecedented." - Gary Cohen pulls no punches on the lifeless Mets.
The moment a young fan gifted Juan Soto the Spider-Man mask he made in Seattle 🧡💙
The Mets are now using the mask as their home run celebration
