We are a coalition of organisations opposing the Conversion Practices draft bill: Standing up for LGB, parents, teachers, therapists, freedom of speech & belief
In 2024 an earlier version of the Conversion Practices Draft Bill was described by Lord Forsyth of Drumlean as “A bill clearly designed to undermine the family and attack free speech.”
The current draft bill is no better.

The Conversion Practices Draft Bill will harm those it claims to be protecting.
Lesbian, gay, and bisexual youth will be left with nowhere safe to discuss their feelings.

Children who do not conform to sexist stereotypes of how girls and boys should behave, dress or what they should enjoy need time and freedom to discover who they are. Many will grow up to be lesbian, gay or bisexual.
The Draft Conversion Practices Bill could criminalise ordinary parenting conversations and make therapists afraid to explore whether a child’s distress is connected to autism, trauma, mental health, body image or emerging same-sex attraction.
Listen to parents and others explain what is at stake:

Please share it and make as much noise as you can. The alternative is allowing the criminalisation of the very people who care most about outcomes for these children and for young lesbian, gay and bisexual people.
@BinTheBill_ The Draft Conversion Practices Bill for England & Wales is pure ideology. It has been brought in to tame transactivists after the #SupremeCourtRuling it's unworkable, will criminalise family conversations & attack #FreeSpeech not one LGB person will be saved.

In February 2024 Baroness Noakes said this about an earlier emanation of the Conversion Practices Bill.
The current draft does not pass any of these tests.
