We are living through an unprecedented phase in the history of the Islāmic Ummah — not only in terms of humiliation, weakness, and degradation — but in terms of complete satisfaction with this humiliation, and even pride in it and competition toward it!

Look at the state of some Muslim countries that are courting the greatest enemy of Islām and Muslims — America — and fawning over it, even describing it as a “friendly nation”!

They race toward normalization with its spoiled child — the criminal, usurping, murderous occupying entity — which violates sanctities and desecrates the sacred.

Shaykh al-ʿAllāmah al-Albānī (may Allāh have mercy on him) said:

❝And is it not enough for you to know of this great misguidance — that they openly declare that they have sought help from Islāmic and friendly nations. Who are these friendly nations they relied upon? America and Britain! Well, are these nations friends to the Muslims?! They are the very cause of the calamity that befell Palestine! O people, fear Allāh, open your eyes, do not shut off your minds — this is the disaster of our age!❞

This is the occupying state, slaughtering Muslims in Gaza in broad daylight, starving them, blocking aid, and killing those who seek food and medicine in cold blood — before the eyes of the entire world, and in the face of the utter silence of Muslim states that have done nothing.

Even more appalling is that some Western countries — like Spain, Norway, Ireland, and South Africa — have taken a far nobler and more honorable stance than the majority of Muslim states.

Indeed, even some Western peoples have shown more sympathy and humanitarian support than what we’ve seen from many Muslim populations.

Our humiliation has reached a dreadful level — Islāmic states have remained silent for months in the face of massacres, starvation, and genocide in Gaza. Even the usual “condemnation and denunciation” statements — which never changed anything — have disappeared, as if Gaza were not part of the body of the Ummah.

Meanwhile, we see the repeated Zionist attacks on Syria — the occupation bombards, kills, and destroys in a sovereign state — and yet the Muslim states remain equally silent. No statement. No condemnation. No stance!

Where is the Organization of Islāmic Cooperation? Where is the Arab League? Where is the Gulf Cooperation Council?

All these institutions have become paralyzed, concerned only with local or regional affairs — with a complete absence of the unified Islāmic identity. Instead, narrow nationalism and toxic regionalism have become the new reference and the measuring stick!

There is concern only for “the homeland,” and duties are only toward “the homeland’s borders.” Beyond that — even if blood is spilled — it does not concern them, except in terms of human sympathy, not religious obligation.

All of this is the result of the Ummah’s abandonment of its religion, its Lord’s law, and the replacement of Allāh’s rule with man-made laws. As a result, the religious conscience disappeared, and the meanings of Islāmic brotherhood and loyalty to Allāh, His Messenger, and the believers were erased — replaced by national and regional affiliations.

Shaykh al-Islām Ibn Taymiyyah said :

If the teacher or instructor has commanded that a person be shunned, humiliated, ostracized, or distanced, and so on, then this matter must be examined.

If the individual has committed a legal sin, they are to be punished in proportion to their sin, without any excess. However, if they have not committed a legal sin, it is not permissible to punish them for the sake of the teacher’s personal interests or anyone else’s.

Teachers do not have the right to divide people into factions or engage in actions that sow enmity among them.
