I've been in security operations for over 6 years.
I've triaged more alerts than I can count. I've triaged more alerts than I can count, improved processes, managed tools, Watched good analysts burn out from noise nobody would fix. Learned things no certification ever covered.
Most of that experience stayed in my head or buried in scripts somewhere that only I knew existed.
I'm putting it out there now. Starting this month, I'm running a content series here on LinkedIn on two things:
1. What analysts actually face. Alert fatigue. Broken metrics. On-call at 3am with nobody to escalate to. The gap between what job descriptions say and what the shift actually looks like.
2. Building SOC tooling for the modern analyst. Scripts, automation, detection-as-code pipelines, enrichment tools. Real code you can pull down and use.
Twice a week.
This comes from shifts worked, tools built, and problems I've dealt with firsthand. If you're an analyst, a detection engineer, security engineer, a security leader trying to understand your team's reality, or someone thinking about getting into this field, it's for you.
First post drops this week.
Follow if that sounds useful. And if any of it matches your own experience, say so in the comments. I'd want this to be a conversation than a monologue.

@WilliamsNwachi@JoyChuksO This is not about being an African or Nigerian, he sure did a silly mistake. In advanced countries they actually follow and go by their various laws. @WilliamsNwachi stop relating everything to being a Nigerian, be smart and act wisely.
