We
need trained specialists who understand the cultural identities and politics of
countries if we are to halt or reverse the effects of climate change.
I always have to wonder how long it takes humanity to understand that we are part of nature and not the other way around. Clean water, fresh air, forests, wetlands and oceans that store carbon and produce oxygen. And..... nature delights us with its wonderful sight💚🌳🌲🌿🍀💚
Breaking News!

I just had to extend the y-axis to accommodate yesterday's record breaking global sea surface temperature anomaly of 0.76°C above the 1991-2020 mean.
Taking children into the forest, explaining to them that trees are alive, communicate with other trees, sleep at night, and produce the oxygen we breathe, awakens an understanding that is important for the environment. Only what is understood will be treated with respect.💚🌳🌲💚
Night thoughts
Somewhere along the way we lost sight of the fact that when we harm nature, we harm ourselves.
We need to return to our roots and protect what we have and rebuild what we have destroyed. Nature is priceless.💚🌱🌿☘️🌲🌳🍀💚
Theme 1: Advances in Climate Science
The focus was on advances, challenges & opportunities, novel techniques of model-data fusion, #EarlyWarning systems for climate extremes & hazards, exploiting #MachineLearning to improve parameterization in the atmosphere & ocean

Your 'moment of doom' for July 13, 2023 ~ The end of ice ...
"Around 2015, that trend changed, with sea ice seeing more fluctuations and declines around the South Pole, in some years even faster than the Arctic region. Scientists aren’t sure why."

I'm seeing folks posting pictures depicting a sudden spike in Greenland melt extent that look shocking. Here is their source: https://t.co/Lp55JsgBX7
This is not anything even remotely comparable to previous melt events in Greenland. Not yet, anyway.
I prepared a little graph:
Are you paying attention yet?
The North Atlantic SST anomaly on June 8 was 1.04°C above the 1982-2023 mean.
For those keeping track, that's 3.56σ, or 1-in-5400.
