@nvdloves@sqr2d you don't need to confirm to the player "yes you pressed this button", the player will automatically know if what they pressed happened on or not when you update them with the input history, so to me it sounds redundant
@nvdloves@sqr2d i guess it's the other person speaking for you, but what it sounds like is you just have what brawlhalla already does, but from scratch, so, i don't like calling this "much better netcode". Also, why are you doing ACK's for UDP? That's the point of tcp
@yayamnh48@saltyAom ideally we'd have ai models be trained on public domain code, and then they could look for and load up the open source code into their context, then credit it for the user
which, by my means, would make it "indisputably" okay
but also it'd make the model terrible
@yayamnh48@saltyAom i always thought about license infringement as a subset of copyright infringement
The actual trouble is determining the exact point. Is it infringed upon the training process, or when the robot spits out 1:1 gpl code, based on that data?
Or similar code?
same dilemma as with art
@saltyAom So i think a person should be aware of these factors and judge things case by case. There's simply projects which are in such a gray area that different people can come to opposite conclusions, and neither would be dumb
Thank you for listening to my dollar store ted talk
tldr:
@saltyAom And then finally it's the one off cases like crawlers ddosing self hosted git instances
Using ai to rewrite and wash licenses
Getting laid off for not using ai enough, then getting rehired later
The flood of low effort overpromised projects...
Makes me notice the art in code.
@Shrimpsbiscuit@TylerGlaiel if the enemy has it's back against the wall, or there's water in the way, it gets more compilcated.
Not super sure about how the algorithm works but that's the most i can roughly deduct
@Shrimpsbiscuit@TylerGlaiel here's a shitty mspaint drawing on why a frenzy cat might attack a friendly cat even tho an enemy is facing them. Cats prioritize taking shorter routes and dealing the most damage, so in this example they'd hit the ally instead of going around.
@thetomska Yo, i'm settling for a twitter comment since that seems to be the best way to reach you
I think i've got quite the great recommendation for this series
Fanatyk is a polish short film based on the "My father is a fishing fanatic" copypasta, more deets: https://t.co/1cqWBlWu3w
@alejadrorr0123@ProfPressure@FGC_Daily And killer instinct devs*
But yeah it's all really spotty. Im cheering for this game but i wouldnt be surprised if they dropped the ball again because of shitty management
