The iPhone is roughly 100,000,000x more powerful.

And yet, the AGC landed humans on the Moon six times with zero crashes.

Here's why: the software was written with constraints so tight that bugs had nowhere to hide. Margaret Hamilton's team coded in machine language, directly. No abstraction layers. No frameworks. No dependencies.

Every byte was deliberate.

We didn't go to the Moon despite having weak computers.
We went because weak computers forced engineers to be extraordinary.

Frank Gehry, one of the most influential architects of the past century, has died at the age of 96. His work reshaped expectations of what buildings could be, pushing structural engineering and digital design to new limits.

Gehry was best known for the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao – a project widely credited with transforming its city and redefining cultural architecture. Our long form documentary on YouTube explores that project and its impact in detail.

Born in Toronto and based in Los Angeles, Gehry became a global figure whose impact reached far beyond aesthetics. His early adoption of digital modelling tools changed how complex forms could be designed and built, influencing an entire generation of architects and engineers.

Just spent a month in Kansas City. The 3 weirdest things:

1) Everyone is super nice—almost to the point of feeling off.

Example: I'm in a gas station on the wrong side of town. Another customer who is 6'6", 250 lbs, and has face tattoos walks over and says, "Hi sir, they have a sale on Gatorade you might want to check out."

2) Nobody has a favorite BBQ place.

They like them all equally but have favorite items at each one. "Oh, I like the fries at KC Joe's and the brisket at..."

3) Everyone dresses like a tourist.

Go out on a random Tuesday, and everyone will have a "Kansas City" t-shirt on it. Entire stores are devoted to city merchandise. It's nuts.

For Mammoth Design Director David Folsom, creating a new stadium for the Kansas City Royals was a passion project, dream come true, and homage to baseball’s rich history all at once. 

The @Royals have initial plans in place to bring the hometown team into the heart of the city. One option is to build at the site of the old @KCStar printing pavilion, stretching part of ballpark over I-35. 

That’s where Folsom and Mammoth Sports Construction came in. A lifetime baseball fan and Kansas City native, Folsom poured unvarnished passion into the conception. Recycled copper from the KC Star building pays tribute to the site where it would stand. The brick facade incorporates the style of the iconic West Bottoms stockyards. The thoughtfully curved seating bowl preserves the present seating structure of Kaufman Stadium. And the U-shaped section design takes inspiration from Fenway Park and Camden Yards.

Altogether, it's a a timeless ballpark design, woven into its city, with all the history of yesterday and the features of tomorrow. Craftsman quality. Anchored to place. A city like this one deserves no less.
