I stand with @basedmikelee.
I will vote to stay in session unless we have passed the SAVE America Act.
The American people expect us to deliver. They deserve secure elections.
.@LeaderJohnThune, I hereby object to any effort to put the Senate into recess in August—at least until such time as the Senate has passed the SAVE America Act—and hereby request a roll call vote.
Do not assume you have my consent.
You do not.
It's so on brand for Minnesota officials to prosecute an American woman who said a no-no word, while simultaneously protecting violent illegal offenders from being arrested by ICE.
@JeffClarkUS Is there any way to reign in the district courts? They seem to have no worries about being overruled, so they just keep running the clock on Trumps second turn.
What it used to be like to have an after-school job in America.
You got off the bus, changed clothes, and headed to work. Grocery store, gas station, fast food, landscaping, warehouse, or factory floor. Sixteen, seventeen years old, and you were expected to show up on time, work hard, and learn how the real world operated.
You learned to deal with customers, manage inventory, fix equipment, handle money, and take direction from a boss who didn’t care that you had homework. You came home tired with cash in your pocket, a sense of pride, and a little more understanding of what it takes to make a living.
Those jobs taught responsibility, work ethic, and basic skills that carried into adulthood. They were how generations of Americans learned the value of a dollar and the dignity of honest work.
Today those same entry-level positions are often filled by adults on guest worker programs or illegal labor willing to work for less. The after-school job that used to build character and savings has been turned into something many American kids no longer even compete for.
We did not run out of teenagers willing to work. We ran out of employers willing to pay American wages and train American kids.
The system that gave millions of young Americans their first taste of independence and responsibility has been hollowed out. And we wonder why so many never learn the habits that lead to success.
What was your first after-school job and what did it teach you that school never could?
The full Fifth Circuit has issued an extraordinary precedential order making clear that illegal aliens do not have a constitutional right to roam free in the United States during their removal proceedings.
Left's own health shops say 1.4M immigrants lose Medicaid under the One Big Beautiful Bill. But the fact checkers said they were never covered. If they weren't covered — how are they losing coverage? You be the judge.
Isn’t it weird how unsubsidized consumer goods like TVs, appliances, clothes, all get cheaper and cheaper…while anything government puts its hands on, healthcare, housing, food, tuition, cars, utilities…just gets more and more unaffordable?
Oh well. Probably nothing.
@FmrRepMTG Don’t disparage their deaths with your political bullshit. When you sign up and take an oath you understand the gravity of what you’re doing. You may not agree with the cause but you willingly follow orders. They don’t quit when it’s difficult-unlike you!
Americans literally don’t know if a sitting member of the US Senate is alive.
It’s been 39 days.
And they don’t care that Americans don’t know.
Not even a little.
Congress is a disgrace.
I worry about taxpayers who local governments have overtaxed.
Property tax revenue has nearly doubled for local governments this decade.
The state has reduced its budget for 4 straight years — local governments can do the same.
Floridians should not be taxed out of their homes!
Former Milwaukee Judge Hannah Dugan committed a federal felony by obstructing an ICE arrest, yet received neither probation nor jail time.
I defended the Constitution and received four months in federal prison.
That’s exactly correct. I can see both sides of the Flock argument, but it’s important that we’re perfectly clear - @cbuscitycouncil was totally fine with Flock being used to target American citizens, but the moment they learned that @ColumbusPolice were using it to target illegal immigrants, that was a bridge too far.
🚨 The D.C. Circuit has temporarily allowed the U.S. Postal Service to move forward with its proposed election-mail rule requiring states to submit voter lists and serialized ballot barcodes before USPS will mail federal ballots, staying a district judge's order.
