@Boenau@fox35orlando Pedestrian safety is actually one of the main concerns they voice in the article; cars could lose control due to taking the bump too fast and go into the sidewalk.
Also, the speed hump signs aren't up yet.
I'd think the main goal would be to design infra for everyone's safety.
@TrueSlazac I know posting on these threads is like jumping up and down on thin ice, but genuinely curious about where all these other schools (other than the 3 in Europe) come up in the stories. Are they mentioned in something other than the mainline HP books?
@CactusJackhause @_NikkiMo_ @NeedBatteries@historyinmemes Sure, I just think it's a sweeping assumption to assume big people are eating sugary and/or processed foods all the time. I eat stuff like that and am thin, while my friend eats nutritious meals and is big. There's so much more to a person's body type than their calorie intake.
@bleu_capsicum Woot! That sounds exhausting but also kinda fun - I love going through old stuff.
Do you happen to have the URL yet, or is it going to be the same as your current one?
@OhNoSheTwitnt From my limited experience, I've had a similar experience with men's pants. Tried on two diff 32 waists in the store *of the same brand and model* and one fit snugly, while the other was super loose.
Happens regularly, and for length, too! Just bad quality control I guess...
@ispekhov@VERBAL_CHANCLA@DavidZipper It's about prevention and lowering risk. The chance of death will be lower when people are driving slower.
Slower speed = greater chance for:
- reacting to and avoiding crash situation
- safety equipment on car to be effective
- maintain car control

@sarahhbickerton@iamharaldur Tbf, most US banks have easy money transfer services such as Zelle (used through the bank's mobile app), which just allows putting in a phone # to identify the person/account you want to send money to.
@daejadwrites They've used shuttle buses (which presumably would be under the 6 ton limit) for light rail outages... it'd be a pain to use here, but surely it's better to shuttle people over the bridge than stop the routes altogether?
@hearth_taro @SterileWhale @womenpostingws There isn't a 1:1 ratio between "unhealthy lifestyle" and "fatness". I'm skinny and eat plenty of bad food, but my roommate is larger (and shorter) but eats healthier than I do. The "fat is unhealthy" judgment makes no sense because it's misinformed.
@StickSponge @GorkHon_Cylaxx I suppose someone reported your tweet, but other tweets with similar contents were not reported? Or you were just unlucky. :P
