@nojohnsense@OleTimeHardball There is a story out there that Jackson told Comiskey and that Comiskey "said nothing."
Further it has been suggested that the other baseball owners let Jackson take the blame to shield Comiskey.
For me that possibility is worthy of considering.

@HonestOriole44@SciglianoJ96811@VinnysCorner1 Agree it was "the unofficial metric."
Cubs fan since 1968. Kingman looked to may be the first ML player to hit 500 HR and not make the Hall. Ultimately he hit 442.
In 1982 for the Mets, he was nearly the 1st player to lead a league in HR and not bat over .200. Finishing at .204.
@lsedd@SVG__Collection The originally released recording was 1968 on Electric Ladyland, 58 years ago.
This concert was from the movie, Rainbow Bridge, 1970.

@OleTimeHardball The pre-20th century stolen base records should be footnoted.
The old rules stated that, for example, a player advancing from first to third on a single was credited with a steal.
Advancing from first to home on a single, 2 steals.
It really does cloud the records in comparison.
