So Boris has declared he will oppose another referendum with every fibre of his body. So much for someone trying to unite the country when the European elections showed that the biggest winner was parties supporting a second referendum! What’s he scared of? #BorisJohnson
@baptist_simon I like the simplicity. The problem is that May’s deal is terrible. I’m a remainer, but the only sensible option is delay for a long time - 2yrs; work out a deal that parliament supports and then go to a referendum. In or out.
I had a lot if respect for Theresa May, but I’m afraid it’s now gone. Sad day for democracy when she remains dogmatically wedded to a failed deal, and will not contemplate anything not in the Tory manifesto. Time to put party politics aside! #withdrawArticle50#PeoplesVote
So apparently Theresa May thinks it’s OK for politicians to vote on the same question again ... in case they change their mind based on a better understanding of the facts ... but the people can’t. It’s utter hypocrisy! Give us a people’s vote! #peoplesvote#withdrawArticle50
@bernardjenkin@StandUp4Brexit Respectfully I disagree. Democracy cannot be built on promises of a Utopian future which we’d love to think exists, but doesn’t. Democracy needs representatives to make decisions which are actually good for us and are built on reality! Well done Parliament!
@HouseofCommons So the only unilaterally deliverable solution is now to withdraw Article 50 and reconsider Brexit entirely. A delay needs a reason, which Europe can reject. Let sense prevail! #withdrawArticle50
