See a small jamband tonight. Have a cold pint by yourself before the opener in a mostly empty venue. Watch the opener. Talk to the hippies. Eat some mushrooms. Smoke a joint. Smoke two. Dance wildly. Buy a T-shirt. Check in on your friends. Check in on yourself. Enjoy the trip.
@chrisbriem@SweetG1951 You must be in good shape man.
I don't feel safe biking to Oakland over the Bloomfield bridge unfortunately, that sounds frightening, I always wished there was some sort of cool trail under the bridge in the gorge
There are cool city steps that go down there
@chrisbriem@SweetG1951 By the little tower thing half way up, it's never that bad but it's also never pristine.
I also usually do this early, early morning so it has remnants of the night before maybe.
And waking back from Smalls unusually see overflowing cans π€·
@chrisbriem@SweetG1951 It's been better lately than it was a year ago I suppose, I've seen people there cleaning though on a somewhat regular basis
That's a good ride, I always assumed you were in SS but I guess Bloomfield
@chrisbriem@SweetG1951 There's never been a ton of loose trash here, other than the overflowing trash cans and bags of trash in the little area by the tower.
But it's been that way forever lol, hyperbole doesn't serve this well
@chrisbriem@SweetG1951 You're on the 40th bridge sidewalk every day? It just seems odd thing to take a strong position on, it was past of my commute for years on a bike.
It's never that bad, but the trashcan is always overflowing and there are usually bags of trash where the in-set area is.
@chrisbriem@SweetG1951 Chris, honestly doubling down on this is just going to affect your overall veracity on everything
I am on that sidewalk all the time and have been for a long, long time. There's usually a ton of trash.
Someone probably picked it up over the nice weekend.
@chrisbriem Are you trolling? The inset area a few yards up has had trash packed in every single day for 2 decades π
I rode a bike on this twice daily for many years
The venue for Goose is brand new and LiveNation. It's situated in the most inconvenient location possible in the city, but at least it's in the city and you'll be able to walk.
I'd stay near the convention center area because you can still walk and it's nice. Or a strip Airbnb.
@TomCat7995@geyanastasio@NevilleHarris88 Yeah for sure there are Airbnbs there. But convention center hotel will let someone walk to the strip easily and also walk around the cultural dist and to the show. Pretty good location
@TourWrangler@geyanastasio@NevilleHarris88 New venue, not even open yet, in the most inconvenient possible area (next to hockey arena).
I'm sure it'll be fine but there's no local scene to hang out before the shows, etc, it's a terrible location and traffic will be unbearable if there is an arena event
