I joined Fr. Edward Kachurka, pastor of Saint Gregory Church in Bellerose, and the Bellerose Fire Dept. Friday, June 19th, for the Opening Night of the Annual Saint Gregory Outdoor Festival. It runs through June 27th.
I offered a Mass of Thanksgiving at Saint Kevin Church in Flushing on June 17 marking the 25th Anniversary of the arrival in the US of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Saint Marc. The sisters are currently stationed in Saint Kevin and Saint Mel parishes.
This past Sunday at Saint Luke's Whitestone, we bid Farewell to Fr. Chin Nguyen, who served the parish 5 years. The church and hall were filled with grateful parishioners. We wish Father all God’s blessings in his new assignments at St. Gregory Bellerose & Queensboro College!
As I said to the @TabletNewspaper "But now, with this exposure to the windows in song, it might bring them to appreciate more what we have here, the gift that we have in these beautiful windows," about the St. Luke's windows and connection to the faithful.

By now, I am sure that many of you have heard that Our Holy Father, Pope Leo XVI, has issued his first Encyclical Letter, Magnifica Humanitas, (Magnificent Humanity) on the Protection of the Human Person in the Age of Artificial Intelligence. He begins his message with these words: “Humanity, created by God in all its grandeur, is today facing a pivotal choice: either to construct a new tower of Babel or to build the city in which God and humanity dwell together.” Pope Leo calls on us to be builders of communion, not architects of Babel, so that humanity may not lose its magnificence and the world may recognize, that the human heart is the place where God wishes to dwell. I encourage you to read the letter in its entirety here: https://t.co/KC4GgwKWj7
