@aventus_sk@antyKremlak Not equating or comparing - just highlighting your double standards. It's a shame that @NawrockiKn's 2023 comments were overlooked for cheap political points fueled by hatred towards Ukraine. Since then, Ukraine has shown only more openness to investigating the Volyn tragedy!
@aventus_sk@antyKremlak Of course, you're ignoring the crimes committed by Polish figures and falsely assume that Ukraine is not acknowledging the crimes committed by Ukrainian figures. But it is those who look at history in a russian style.
As always, double standards!
@aventus_sk@antyKremlak Yeah, sure, the crimes committed by Poles you just ignore and find excuses. Pilsudski and Skladkowski are directly responsible for pacification and are honored in Poland.
@Kodiak3997424@YGorenich@antyKremlak Sure, just that more than a thousand were arrested, and many were injured, tortured, fined, etc. The fact that you think that the crimes can be ignored because not enough Ukrainians were killed tells everything about this discussion.
@Kodiak3997424@YGorenich@antyKremlak Let's see: Pacification of Ukrainians in Eastern Galicia happened in 1930; the massacres of Poles in Volhynia and Eastern Galicia happened in 1943-1945. I'm not an expert, but I have a strong feeling that 1930 came before 1943. I could be wrong, though.
@gajdziej@adam_eberhardt That's exactly the problem! Ukraine is ready to acknowledge the crimes committed by different historical figures and is working in collaboration with Poland to establish the truth. While you deny your crimes and try to justify them.
⚡️ @Netflix has acquired rights to the Russian series Masha and the Bear, which incorporates pro-Kremlin, militaristic propaganda aimed at children.
🧵 1/15 ⬇️
Netflix has quietly acquired the rights to new seasons of the Russian animated series Masha and the Bear and will stream it in more than 100 countries worldwide.
Why is this a problem?
Because this isn’t just another children’s cartoon. The series has repeatedly been criticized for promoting a positive image of Russia, normalizing Soviet-era symbols and militaristic themes, and presenting Russian cultural narratives to young audiences around the world.
While Russia continues its full-scale war against Ukraine, giving one of the country’s most recognizable cultural exports access to a global audience of millions raises serious questions about what messages are being amplified and why.
@Isyanka48724473@adam_eberhardt Ukraine will always be thankful to every country that helps it. But Ukraine is paying the highest price and deserves a bit of respect. Taking advantage of its vulnerable position is contrary to respect!
Ukrainians never denied the Volyn tragedy, arguing only against the fakes and asking for historical justice and recognition of Polish crimes against Ukrainians before, during and after Volyn on OUR own territories. We were home. We never occupied Poland.
The Polish government and their nationalists deny the existence of our country before 1991, deny their crimes, and call Ukrainian territories theirs.
Somewhere I heard it already. Where? Russians behave exactly the same…
Denying their own crimes and claiming our territories as theirs just shows their true face. Ukraine won’t allow our former occupiers to control us anymore and lie non-stop about our history and OUR territories. Occupation never ends nicely, maybe try not to occupy your neighbours…
Fuck off, imperialistic xenophobic💩 @NawrockiKn
@gajdziej@adam_eberhardt There are also facts about the pacification of Ukrainians in Eastern Galicia. You're not commemorating Armia Krajowa for these crimes, and Ukraine is not commemorating UPA for the crimes that were committed.
@gajdziej@adam_eberhardt That has nothing to do with Ukraine. Ukraine legally sold the grain where it could. So it would be logical to protest to the Polish government rather than block the border and take advantage of Ukraine's vulnerability.
“We’re not helping them. They’re helping us.”
By refusing to surrender, Ukrainians are defending more than their own freedom. They are defending the conditions that allow freedom to exist elsewhere: the rule of law, self-determination, and a world where aggression and nuclear blackmail do not prevail.
That is @TimothyDSnyder argument and why Ukraine’s fight matters far beyond Ukraine.
@jimstewartson@netflix That's the last drop! I've been a customer for years, even though the quality has steadily declined. But now there is no reason to pay @netflix if they are doing business with terrorists and are spreading the russian propaganda! #BoycottNetflix
@gregredyk@MalBinBin@adam_eberhardt Zelensky already explained why he did so. He didn't do it to piss Poland!
And let me repeat once again, in Poland, you commemorate people responsible for the pacification of Ukrainians. We don't dictate to you how to interpret it, do we?
@Jerzy57076964@adam_eberhardt No, you are wrong. Armia Krajowa committed crimes against Ukrainians, but we don't dictate to you how to interpret your history!
