The community has spoken. 180-day maturity, it is.
Milestone: This is the first version of Knots released by someone other than myself. Congrats @kwsantiago!
BIP110 was not to fight spam. It was to prevent CSAM attacks.
BLAKE2b wasn't either - it was to restore functionality to the network after the miners attacked it.
Neither was the long maturity - that was to fight Stratum pooling.
Bitcoin fights spam with filters. And it's very effective. From nearly 2 MB of spam per block to 120k is a 94% reduction. And as you notice, Plumb is paving the way to reduce it further.
Spam is still bad, but no longer a serious problem for Bitcoin.
XBT is Bitcoin. Which is why https://t.co/Hhwhm50IA1 is now live. It’s a free online service for connecting sellers & buyers who exchange XBT for goods and services.
This is just unbelievable!
This block contains 99.1% spam by size, and the spam paid 19.8x cheaper than monetary transactions for the same block space. And core coiners are celebrating it as a success!!
Yes, the red parts are spam and the blue parts are monetary transactions. See if you can spot the blue ones.
@_BitcoinCapital "Bitcoin pleb hasher" is salty because "his" network moved on without him, leaving his hardware obsolete.
XBT continues to live rent-free in the heads of spamcoiners, fence sitters, and those who never understood why we're here.
