Life is funny.
A few years ago I was working on a national tech transformation for a 5 star resort group, earning more money than I ever thought I would and sitting comfortably in the highest tax bracket. On paper, it looked like I’d “made it.”
Now I’m in the lowest tax bracket, working reception at a beachfront hotel in a small regional town, and I can honestly say I’ve never felt more content.
Turns out, I don’t miss the prestige nearly as much as I thought I would. What I love now is the humanity of my work.
I love welcoming tired travellers after a long drive. Solving real problems for real people in real time. Remembering the guest who likes extra towels, or the couple celebrating their anniversary, or noticing from someone’s micro expressions whether they want a warm chat or just a quick, seamless check in after a hard day.
The details matter. People matter.
There’s something deeply fulfilling about making someone feel genuinely looked after.
And when my shift ends, it ends. I don’t carry work stress home with me anymore. I sleep peacefully. I have a wonderful boss. My job pays the bills. I get time and energy to work on the thing I’m truly passionate about, the podcast. And every day I get to live beside the ocean in one of the most beautiful parts of the world.
Funny how life works sometimes. The version of success I chased in my 30s looks very different to the version that actually brings me peace.
These days, I think wealth might just be sleeping well, breathing deeply, having time for what you love, and not dreading Monday morning.
Thank you, Satoshi. 🧡
Let me tell you about my day...
I woke up to a message from Gary Cardone responding to my "I need a mentor" tweet.
I'm now teeing up a live session with a Bitcoiner. I've never done a livestream before, but apparently that's who I am now.
Had steak and eggs for breakfast, then spent the afternoon lying on the beach reading Hoppe.
And shortly I'm meeting a random Bitcoiner from Tasmania whose profile picture is a pig's snout.
How do you even begin to explain this to a normal person?
"Today I got a tweet from a Cardone, read political philosophy on the beach, scheduled a livestream with a stranger from the internet, and I'm off to meet someone known primarily by their pig-snout avatar."
The weirdest part?
This all feels completely normal now.
Appreciate this. The "lock the format first" point really resonates, that's been my whole focus this year.
For me the main thing is deep alignment with sponsors. I'd rather have a few partners who actually fit what the show stands for than a wall of ads that pays more but costs trust. That's the filter for everything, so I think it's more about only working with brands my audience genuinely benefits from.
Keen to hear what worked for you though, please do share. 🙏🧡
@88_sats@honestmoneyshow 537 livestreams is an incredible level of consistency.
I think a lot of people underestimate how much of this is just showing up, over and over again.
Also, huge respect for building it without sponsors and still keeping the lights on. 👏
Honestly, just feedback on strategy and direction in general.
I'm about a year into @honestmoneyshow, bootstrapped it from nothing to 2.6K subs, and the concept's proven itself. Now I'm at the point where I want to scale properly: sharpening the content, better production, locking in sponsorships, and figuring out the smartest way to grow without losing what makes it work.
Bit of a "what would you do in my shoes" moment. Always keen to hear how others have thought through the same crossroads. 🙏
Thank you Gary, that means a lot.
I host The Honest Money Show, Australia's only female-led, Bitcoin-only podcast. Started bare bones under a year ago and somehow grew it to 2.6K subs, lucky to have had some great minds on.
The test's worked. Now I want to scale it properly: better production, more sponsorship income (AUD and USD), and building something that lasts.
I'll be at I AM on Sunday. And since I have you here... wen podcast? 😊
@arbsmichael@RBAInfo We live in strange times when you have to say, "This is not a conspiracy theory," before stating something that's demonstrably true.
It’s time to stand for what is right against the insane CGT on Australian businesses. Send a submission to @AuSenate now before it closes next Tuesday on the 9th June https://t.co/7jTfpzlaT8

What if the biggest risks to Bitcoin aren’t what you think? 🤔
I am super proud of this episode, and it was one I initially shied away from.
I sat down with Bitcoin expert @jimmysong to dig into Bitcoin Core, Knots, and ProductionReady, and what this emerging split in node software could mean for Bitcoin’s future.
We get into the trade-offs, the tensions, and why just running Bitcoin is becoming a more loaded statement than most people realise.
This conversation genuinely changed how I think about the network.
