Speaking of public health, @SpeakerJohnson, The leading cause of death for children in the United States (ages 1-17) is firearm-related injuries, which include homicides, suicides, and unintentional deaths. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) data, firearms surpassed motor vehicle accidents in 2020 to become the top cause of death for this age group. In 2023, approximately 3,500 children died in gun-related incidents, accounting for about 18% of childhood deaths, with a rate of roughly 5 deaths per 100,000 children. Yet, you all put POLITICS ahead of the precious lives of children. Shame on you!

Why is it that In the United States, the number one killer of children (ages 1-18) is **firearm-related injuries**, including homicides, suicides, and accidental shootings. According to the CDC's 2023 data, guns surpassed motor vehicle accidents as the leading cause of death for children starting in 2020, with approximately 4,700 pediatric firearm deaths in 2023. This accounts for roughly 20% of all deaths in this age group. This is a problem unique to the United States!
