#₿itcoin Only. #₿itcoinKnots BI Pro. Politically Homeless. MPLS. No c̶r̶y̶p̶t̶o̶. BTC = Money Over IP not Data. Bitcoin is BORING/MOIP a protocol like VOIP.
"Bitcoin Knots for the Win"
"Super Disappointed"
I am super disappointed. In myself.
For the past years, I have head the cry to run your own Bitcoin node. I listened to how critical it is for the Bitcoin Network to remain decentralized. I brushed it off, it sounded like a lot of work. I thought I needed special equipment. I didn't want to spend any precious sats or my valuable scarce time.
Well a few days ago, I started the process to document the entire node runner process.
What I documented in the first FIVE MINUTES was all that is needed. One screen shot, attached again in this post.
Holy crap, is my generation so blind and damaged from all those years of having to install crappy software via dial-up? From Windows to Netgear? Setting up modems and routers, on the phone with Comcast? Dreadful.
Is the current generation so blind because they are so used to an instant-never-uncomfortable existence?
I am up and running, it literally was just a few clicks, yes it takes a couple 'days' to synch up but big deal? You don't remember the old days, where downloading a few pictures took that long. Where if you accidentally disconnected, shut your laptop, you had to start over etc.
HOLY CRAP I am mad. I am so disappointed there are not a million Bitcoin nodes running out there. Why did it take me so long? I will never be able to answer that or forgive myself for my inaction and disdain and complacency.
Notes:
- Running on an old Macbook Air I picked up for $150 off Craigslist.
- Pointed to Bitcoin Knots https://t.co/VdvpvRILUE
- Downloaded to my Apps Folder, had to open it from the folder to get around an Apple 'concern.'
- Ran it for a few days (no thanks to the SPAMmers)
It's running.
Good grief. I have no interest in setting up the Wallet side or let alone even verify my transactions. This isn't about me, if I lost all my Bitcoin, that's life, this is for humanity.
For now, like Swan wants to Orange Pill a million, I want to help Node Pill a million. Anyone want to help?
Set aside five minutes of your time to help the Bitcoin Network? Is that too big of an ask?
How may I help? My Bitcoin "Run your own node" eyes and ears are open. I have NO clue how this could land me in jail either, I'd fight this one the rest of my law-abiding-tax-paying years.
"IPO to UH-OH"
Charles Payne got me to finally watch Fox Business News. His reports on Bitcoin have been really good. It has to be boring talking about so many stocks outside the MAG7 that suck so bad. Zombie companies.
But one other topic has resonated with me. He has repeatedly sounded the alarm on IPOs. How the process is structured to benefit the insiders, underwriters, VCs, and 'Big Clients.'
Many of whom receive allocations at discounted or pre-IPO prices. (Right Vitalik, it must have been nice getting a gift of a 70% premine to the ETH ICO?)
It's IPO season, a massive amount of money is going to move out of Bitcoin and other assets to chase these IPOs. Charles has called them a poor, outright bad, or rip-off for individual, everyday Americans.
The IPO hangovers will happen a few months after the initial hype, fanfare, and media coverage wears off.
Bitcoin is boring. Backed by energy. No Advertising budget. It just works, quietly in the background, no influencers, radio, mainstream media coverage needed.
Bitcoin was built for you but it's up to you to understand it.
Charles Hoskinson is one of the biggest losers of all in 'crypto.' Here is is testifying in Congress but note how he discusses 'transparency' and his example of how every transaction is known since day one, using Bitcoin.
https://t.co/5OIQRBPRmr
Charles: "..you have to
ask yourself what public policy
considerations are you attempting to
satisfy is it sanctions compliance is it
consumer protection is it market
stability what we do as an industry is
we're all about transparency so it's
kind of funny we're talking and debating
about disclosure regimes there's no
other financial asset in the world that
really is as transparent as a
cryptocurrency every transaction from
the very beginning for bitcoin for
example from january 3rd 2009 is known
every single one the holdings of the
founder are known because all of these
things are publicly available to
everybody."
-----
Me: So here he is, using the way better Bitcoin to explain 'best use case' to Congress because ADA falls totally flat.
Update to today:
Then, the bigger kicker is, Charles lately wants to merge ADA and BCH with Kim Dotcom.

How dreadful does your altcoin life have to be when the clear winner is the one that first comes to mind and is the example you use when you testify before Congress?
It's Bitcoin.
It's Bitcoin, Charles.
It's Bitcoin, lobster mic in Boulder, Sundae Swap, Snoop Dogg, Charles Followers.
I would need to write some code to put those last lines for all the Altcoins, excluding Bitcoin because it breaks.
But we could do:
It's Bitcoin.
It's Bitcoin, Vitalek.
It's Bitcoin, Bear costume wearing....
Richard Hart, Kim Dotcom, Faketoshi, and on and on and on, with each of the 30,000 altcoins.
"One Bitcoin = One Bitcoin: Why this saying matters."
Forget the average homeowner with a 30-year mortgage pays 2-2.5 times the original asking price of the home.
Think of how many cars you have purchased or want to purchase.
Lifetime expenses on vehicles (including car payments, gas, and insurance) typically total about ($415,000) by age 40, ($550,000) by age 50, and ($690,000) by age 60.
Let's just say that is the amount of money to buy 5 cars regardless of age.
For me, those 5 cars = $4,000 (2007 Honda Ridgeline, never mind my wife's car.)
Today, those 5 cars have 0% chance of being worth anything in the future.
Now let's say, instead of cars, you bought 5 BTC at $100,000 a piece.
Today those 5 BTC are worth $300,0000, down from $500,0000 but have the potential to be worth millions down the road unlike your cars and even house (factoring in interest, insurance etc.)
Collect Bitcoin, not Cars.
Collect Bitcoin, not Painting.
Collect Bitcoin, not Pokemon Cards.
One Bitcoin = One Bitcoin
@zndtoshi@BitcoinBombadil@rad_nomad@murchandamus@dathon_ohm I readily confess that don't know how to steelman that the use of blockspace for arb. data is beneficial to the network.
From 2009 to 2023 all the engineering effort was spent on making blockspace use as efficient as possible. That is still the reasoning that makes sense to me.

Production Ready: Open Source; TBD Communication
We need a year to revert back to the way things were working just fine to sort things out and wrestle control away from the FTX2 gang.
Any public communication updates @ProductionReady ?
I am having trouble hearing, is that another vacuum?
ProductionReady out of the gate wanted to gain public trust quickly?
