I'm doing an ASIC roundup of open source #riscv cores. Here is the SERV @risc_v v1.10 by @OlofKindgren synthesized and P&R'd using a 65 nm standard cell library.

@cmuratori As a former software engineer and now digital ASIC designer, I'd like to think in terms of clock cycles. 94 ms on a typical CPU running at 4 GHz equals 376 million clock cycles!
I have to run DSP algorithms within hundreds of cycles, yet they need 94 ms for a dialog box?! GTFO
YOUR FATE IS SEALED 🕰️
World of Horror: The Board Game is now available for pre-order! A card-based survival RPG based on @panstasz's game, including Deluxe Edition mysteries and illustrations by the finest in Japanese horror.
300 hand-signed units and more below... ⤵️
@tom_verbeure I am also going through the book and the video (which are both very nice btw), so it helps to have an alternative explanation by you (with code nonetheless!). Thank you!
In the past few days, I managed to make cascaded OSERDES working with #OpenXC7#FPGA.
This means 720p HDMI (742.5 Mbps data rate) can work with the open-source toolchain!
You see the bad and good waveforms -- I tricked the MMCM to generate low frequencies to see them on scope.
@othatsraspberry@VograceCharms Of course I don't want cool trading cards of someone who gives us diabetes with every doodle she does...

I despise this future with a burning passion and will everything I can to buy "dumb" devices that I fully own. If it needs an internet connection, I don't want that thing in my house.
And I say this as a digital ASIC designer and (embedded) software engineer who loves tech!
Just wrapped up our Worst in Show awards at CES and... wow. Every year I think we've hit peak absurdity. Every year I'm wrong.
Here's the most hostile-to-humans tech on display in Vegas:
I presented the Repairability award to Samsung's "Family Hub" smart fridge.
It has voice-controlled doors. A giant touchscreen. Sounds nifty? Well it could be, if Samsung's track record of actually supporting their software wasn't abysmal.
@SaraSoueidan This gives me the "Send me your nudes, but I pinky promise I will not look at them with bad intent." vibes... 🤮
Every day I see more and more reasons to never trust these companies that push AI as hard as they do.
