I'm commenting on thoughts I have about gun community topics, particularly the NRA since I'm a longtime life member.
Also, since I don't use the book of faces publicly, I may respond to some things I see there over here.
My first post about committee assignments is pretty mild. But if one woman speaks up, she's gonna be reminded of how little she knows about NRA programs she's not partially in charge of.
@DannyMacShoot@WillesLee Yet the minutes show there's never any question asked in deliverables even as the staff reports are getting more vague. They admit in interviews they think it's a blast to sit on the phone all day.
@DannyMacShoot@WillesLee The new team is up to like 5 new launches. August 2025 (halfassed, no class and rules still draft), Gunsite class & shoot (no class ready, shoot appears canceled), Adaptive Shooting Summit (no ARC), then said SHOT, then GAOS, etc. Still no turnaround in posted shoots.
@WillesLee Where are you on record calling for an audit of the events announced that never happened and what was spent in both money and staff time? Gunsite summit? Didn't happen. Adaptive shooting summit launch? No record it happened. Both announced, neither has record they happened.
@WillesLee Have you submitted for an audit of contracts with influencers paid to see if they delivered what was agreed in the launch year? Most of those are coming up on a year. Press statements of promised activities don't appear to match, so check contact language.
Love how he uses the #transparency hashtag on this thread, but won't disclose to members what votes are happening or a problem.
Never any ownership for his board duties, actions, or consequences.
There is a decent chance that the pay doesn't fit the risk. Remember Willes was part of the officer team that publicly played games with indemnification of NRA officers. And protected Wayne who admitted withholding key info from John. #transparency Willes forgets to add
1/2 Shenanigans causing the gross delay of a new NRA Secretary, an Association officer, or of an acting/interim on/before ‘retirement’ (considering NYAG v NRA)? Something more nefarious? That’s what writers are asking.
If no one wants the job, perhaps first qual ..
The good Lord has decided that my blood pressure needs to be higher because I just read the LaPierre decision today.
"LaPierre...argues that he should be allowed to [return to being a director of NRA] and implies that he would do so if his health improves."
@jpr9954@CamEdwards Yeah, but Wayne chose the lawyer who previously targeted NRA to work with. Just because another firm represents the Foundation doesn't mean that they haven't been working with Wayne & his counsel to find a way for him to get money.
@jpr9954@CamEdwards I wonder how involved Kent Correll - a lawyer who previously sued NRA to break it up from the Olympic governing groups - was in recommending the breakup so the new Foundation wouldn't be affiliated...
As a reminder to those who might cover this, Wayne's lawyer previously worked AGAINST the NRA. Isn't it curious that he selected him? https://t.co/QcPjOdKBDO

@CamEdwards Correction, I haven't found the file with the decision yet, but all of the articles (even the very detailed ones) just mention a ban on paid position or director level role at NRA only.
So I guess he can be given the money from The 1791 Foundation for some BS "consulting" gig.
@CamEdwards I *think* it's any NY non-profit, but I'll go try to find the original decision that defined it more specifically. I think Wayne only hinted at NRA, so they only addressed it in that context today.
I feel like when @StephenGutowski or @Jake_Fogleman reports on this for @TheReloadSite, this is a comment not being picked up on by many. He has advocates circulating petitions for the Board again.
