@DougHenwood I hate these accounts where they are clearly a republican have nothing to add to the discussion and are out acting like Mike Rogers of all people is an alternative after 2 years of Watching Trump shit on the constitution.
@Berniverse42 We have too many security jobs. Everywhere all you see is security and they have cameras on top of that too. If we could cut the police force and make those guys go build something we might have a country again.
@Tralalerotrll44@todbrot2@ExitTheLeft@iownthelibs You deserve to be tased four times for standing on the side of a road. It shows it from the moment the cop walked up. No attempt to attack him. Just retarded like you.
@estherzelda0514@madmart33363545 If Pakistan wanted to get great turnout for that event. Mamdani showing up isn't the Answer. A nuclear bomb on Tel Aviv is.
@neeratanden@BtechIberian Why would you want to distance from him. His policies are the winning ones. You promote those the Democrats win easy. Divided you guys lose.
@oelayat@nick_field90 When she did nothing about the water crisis in Flint MI. Not holding anyone to account that should have been the litmus test for her.
@xiruxi@elivalley@shannonrwatts The problem is actually the opposite everyone who goes and watches him that is a democrat typically likes what he says. That is an issue if you are bought and paid for.
@FightGPT@barishadenough@ryangrim@RepJimmyPanetta What are American Zionists fighting for again. To send our money to a genocidal regime half way around the world. Hamas and Hezbollah are fighting for their homes and families. The fact that Zionists conflate everything they do with all Jews does not help.
This is what a GLOF looks like in motion: a Glacial Lake Outburst Flood, sometimes called a Jökulhlaup (Icelandic for "glacier run").
Basically: meltwater builds up in a basin trapped against or beneath a glacier. Eventually the ice dam gives way, and all that pent-up water rushes out; sometimes over the course of a day or more.
At Columbia Glacier, this happens almost like clockwork, roughly once a year, with the lake taking about a day and a half to fully drain. No roads, no homes in the path; so it mostly happens quietly, without anyone downstream even noticing.
Compare that to Juneau, where GLOFs along the Mendenhall River actually threaten homes and residents in the valley each year. Serious flood-mitigation work has gone into protecting the community there.
Watching that volume of water suddenly break free from under a glacier is still humbling.
Glaciers aren't the frozen, unmoving things people picture. They're alive, shifting, releasing; a reminder that even "solid" landscapes are anything but static.
