There are some interesting developments regarding VCU's Coaching search and it's not with the rumored favorite! Something should happen within the next 48-72 hrs.

Revenue sharing and player compensation compared to football centric schools is the thing to watch once the coaching situation is settled. VCU could very much be in a reload, versus a rebuild. That again, is the expectation.
At the end of the day I trust our admin because they’ve shown, over and over, the ability to navigate these situations well. Not to say I don’t want to keep RO.
What’s next? Truly no idea. I know personally there’s a strong effort within the Athletic Department to retain RO. I also know there are some things with other schools with which we can not compete.
This team grew together, rebounded from being considered doubtful for a tourney bid, but ultimately, and most importantly, they met the primary expectation of making the tournament. This team deserves all of our gratitude.
Just a few thoughts now that the season is over: rollercoaster, underwhelming non-con based on expectations, followed by excellent conf season, culminating in a bid via an exciting A10 tourney.

The 2024-2025 VCU Rams had an excellent regular season and capped it off with a thrilling A10 Tournament title which I’ll never forget. Unfortunately, the final game added to the list of uncompetitive NCAA tourney games in recent years.
Ram Fans all know the elephant in the room that will most likely come to life in the next few days. Regardless of what happens, our staff largely kicked ass this year and I’m thankful for them giving 110% effort in DC last weekend.
As a lifelong Junkies P1, it was a thrill to be on the air today with the great @AwaddRadio and preview the BYU/VCU tournament matchup. Glad to call Adam a friend.
Take a listen below. This game is gonna be fantastic.
BYU’s offense and VCU’s defense are both nationally elite.
But a couple glaring weaknesses in BYU's metrics point to the potential for an upset.
The Cougars played an abysmal non-conference schedule (346th nationally), so they haven't seen much competition outside of an impressive showing in a strong Big 12 conference.
More importantly, they can turn the ball over at a high rate, and don't shoot free throws well. BYU is 207th in offensive turnover percentage at 17.6%, and 241st in free throw percentage at 70.5%.
VCU is well positioned to exploit those factors. The Rams are 31st in defensive turnover percentage (20.6%) and play a physical brand of defense that can result in fouls piling up.
So the plan would appear straightforward — out-tough them. Get under their skin. Make them earn it at the line. Apply defensive pressure.
