☣️ In the early version of Resident Evil 7's NOT A HERO DLC, Chris was supposed to fight a mutated Alan, instead of Lucas Baker.
Lucas survives, and Chris captures and interrogates him about The Connections.
His original mission was to capture Lucas alive, not kill him.

🔥 [EXCLUSIVE] 'LAST ESCAPE' mod developer can now create game-quality cutscenes!
Development continues on Last Escape, a fan mod for Resident Evil 3 Remake that aims to restore cut content and bring the game closer to the original Resident Evil 3.
The developer exclusively shared new details with us about the mod's progress:
💥 The Grenade Launcher from RE3 has been added to the mod, fully functional with all animations.
💊 Players can now get a First Aid Box as a drop from Nemesis after winning a fight against him, just like in the original game.
🪪 Jill Valentine will return to the R.P.D., where her S.T.A.R.S. card will be waiting for her.
🧠 Brain Suckers: Work on restoring enemies missing from the remake continues. The developer has successfully added Brain Suckers along with other enemies from the original RE3.
🎬 Perhaps the most interesting part is that the developer is working on new cutscenes for scenes from the original game that didn't make it into the remake.
According to the developer, he got closer to making cutscenes that look as good as those in the remake, with character animations, camera movements, facial animations, and more.
👀 He has already shown us early versions of these cutscenes, and they look really promising! A new video showing his work on the cutscenes should be out soon.
P.S. The developer says he doesn't use vibe coding or AI to decompile the game engine.

I found 5 beta cutscenes that still shipped in the final version of Resident Evil 2 Remake (PC/PS4).
• 2 alternate versions of Leon arriving at the gas station.
• 2 alternate versions of Leon watching the deputy get eaten by a zombie.
• 1 alternate version of Leon and Claire meeting for the first time and escaping the gas station.
These beta cutscenes show that the gas station looked different at some point: it had another exit door that was later removed, and it was decorated differently.
In one cutscene Leon was supposed to take the gun from the deputy, and in another he parks his jeep in a different spot.
Keanu Reeves and Don Lee will star in James Wan's ‘THE GANGSTER, THE COP, THE DEVIL’ remake.
The film follows a police officer and a crime boss who reluctantly team-up to track down a serial killer.

👀 NEW: Resident Evil Development Highlights from Former Capcom Senior Manager Miguel Corti.
▪︎ The original versions of Resident Evil 7 took inspiration from The Last of Us, with a greater focus on storytelling and connections to the franchise's existing lore.
▪︎ The executive producer [Jun Takeuchi] wanted Resident Evil 7 to be a first-person game. This became one of the main changes after development was restarted from scratch.
▪︎ Early versions of Resident Evil 7 considered bringing back Leon, Rebecca, Jill, and HUNK, with stronger connections to Umbrella. The ideas changed so often that Miguel Corti lost track of the different versions.
▪︎ According to Miguel Corti, HUNK's name is actually a mistranslation of Hank.
▪︎ The director wanted to return to basic survival horror with less action, citing Evil Dead (2013) as an inspiration. The movie's protagonist was also named Mia, just like in Resident Evil 7.
▪︎ Ethan Winters was originally planned as a silent protagonist, similar to Half-Life. The idea was abandoned because it made emotional scenes difficult, especially his reunion with Mia. Some of Ethan's limited reactions remained in the final game.
▪︎ The choice between saving Mia or Zoe was added when development was almost finished. The executive producer wanted to include a choice after playing a Dragon Quest game on Nintendo DS.
▪︎ Mia's recorded message from the ship was added to help players feel more connected to her. Her backstory was still unclear during development, which caused problems for the story.
▪︎ Late in development, some team members worried that Resident Evil 7 was too different from previous games. They were concerned about the lack of Umbrella connections, returning characters, and other familiar elements.
▪︎ Late in development, the team added more familiar Resident Evil elements, including a major boss battle, a rocket launcher, and Chris Redfield, because they were worried fans might reject the game for being too different.
▪︎ The writer suggested giving Chris Redfield an Umbrella patch to make his appearance more interesting and get people talking. However, fans were more concerned about his different appearance than the Umbrella logo. [lol 😆]
▪︎ Chris Redfield looked different in Resident Evil 7 because the team used scanned real-life models and couldn't find someone who looked like him in previous games.
▪︎ The Baker family and Sewer Gators were created during the new development direction. Miguel Corti personally came up with the name Sewer Gators.
▪︎ The development team wanted to use VHS tapes, even though Miguel Corti and others questioned why a group of YouTubers would use VHS camcorders instead of digital cameras.
▪︎ According to Miguel Corti, Resident Evil 7 was going to be Capcom's first game localized into Arabic, requiring additional work from the UI artists.
▪︎ Miguel Corti helped write several scenes, including the final version of the Baker family dinner scene and the deputy's introduction.
▪︎ The DLC mixed death traps and puzzles with ideas involving Lucas and attempts to make the game more like CODE: Veronica, RE4, RE5, and RE6 with Uncle Joe and Chris Redfield.
▪︎ Resident Evil 7 sold around 3 million copies in the first year, which disappointed Capcom despite the positive reception from critics and players.
▪︎ Miguel Corti believes Resident Evil CODE: Veronica had a negative influence on the franchise's direction, particularly the increasingly complicated stories and multiple locations seen in later games. He also noted that many developers considered CV the best game released before Resident Evil 4.
▪︎ Capcom used the names Resident Evil 7: Biohazard and Biohazard 7: Resident Evil in an attempt to give the series the same name worldwide and avoid making separate art and audio assets for different regions.
▪︎ After several early versions of Resident Evil 7, Capcom reorganized its development divisions, placing Resident Evil under one division to improve efficiency. The game was then restarted from scratch with a new development team and director.
▪︎ The different names across regions also caused translation problems. Translators had to choose between terms used by fans, the movies, or new translations, even when the familiar terms weren't accurate.
▪︎ During Resident Evil 6's development, Call of Duty made such a strong impression at E3 2012 that the developers called it "E3 Shock."
▪︎ Despite negative reviews, Resident Evil 6 was a major commercial success. It sold around 6 million copies in the first year, and Capcom's management was happy with the results.
▪︎ The idea for Resident Evil 6 came from the director commissioning concept art of Chris Redfield and Leon S. Kennedy pointing their guns at each other.
