@dilanesper I don't think k you should murder anyone. I also don't think because I don't think Bob should be killed that I should be responsible for his health care.
@PatrickHeizer Yes. That's because screw worm control actually meets the criteria for a public good and therefore is one of the areas that the federal government should be involved. Unlike the vast majority of what it actually gets involved with.
@Simon_Cleret@peterrhague@jewndahalfmen A lot of this passion died in the trenches of WW I, the grind of WW II, and the psychological trauma thereof. It made people demand more of the state but that turned into dependency
If a physician dispenses a medication in their office, they need to buy it, stock it and the supplies necessary for use, they need to pay people to track it, dispense it, etc. There is literally no incentive to do any of that if they can't get paid for it. Either it's going to be a separate charge or they will roll it into the cost of the visit. Which, since none of this is covered will be cash.
