@MeManBoy0@MitschDann61477 I’m assuming you lost your job if you truly had it, because good lord. All I was saying was Kentucky needs a guy who can be better at talking with the agents that way they don’t get worked around like they have been. All you do is flaunt your experience and put me down. Grow up.
@MeManBoy0@MitschDann61477 When team’s scout them genius. Twitter has a minimum amount of characters that can be typed. Was that not obvious when I said it😭
@MeManBoy0@MitschDann61477 I NEVER said GM’s evaluate players lmao. I said they can often be the first points of contact WITH players, that is in reference to speaking with their AGENTS talking about NIL contract negotiations, i stated multiple times. I never once said I know all the details, YOU do not
@MeManBoy0@MitschDann61477 I believe you’ve worked in CBB, but it’s hard for me to believe someone who has been around it for 25 yrs is on Twitter yelling at people who are trying to have a professional interaction. Instead of insulting someone and repeating your experience, prove it? Just a thought
@MeManBoy0@MitschDann61477 I do know what some GMs across sports do and what their job entails. I’m not a pro on college basketball GM’s because it’s a brand new position. Do you understand how you come across saying that but not like actually providing real info into what GM’s you’re talking to?
@MeManBoy0@MitschDann61477 GM’s in college basketball are a very brand new thing. This is a very unprecedented position. It even was in college football until NIL started. I feel like it’s just a little hard for me to believe you truly know exactly what a GM does for a college basketball team.
@MeManBoy0@MitschDann61477 GM’s work the exact same way in every sport. That’s the point im making. If the Cats got a GM in basketball he could play the role of what many football GM’s do. Work along with Keegan Brown. If you know GM’s I’d be happy to hear some examples. Im choosing to believe you
@MeManBoy0@MitschDann61477 I’ve had experience speaking to staff and people who have become GM’s through Marshall U. Alex Jones is the GM for the Marshall football team and was given the promition from being the director of player personnel (like Keegan) His job comes with more priorities that UK needs
@MeManBoy0@MitschDann61477 They absolutely are. Typically GM’s make the first initial contact with recruits when scouting them. More importantly, they are the main person who deals with the players agent, giving the head coach more one on one time with the player. This is important
@MeManBoy0@MitschDann61477 Of course Pope will play the biggest part in constructing a roster. Keegan Brown’s job is essentially the de facto “GM”, but he’s never been that guy to develop close relationships with top tier caliber stars, he decides what players fit Pope’s system. Kentucky needs that guy
@LORCARDS@TheFieldOf68@GoodmanHoops Mikel if anything hurt is stock going to Louisville and the opinion with these execs honestly proves it. He was a top 5 talent who has been consistently mocked far later due to Kelsey’s incompetence managing the team.
@MeManBoy0@MitschDann61477 The way I see it. GM’s give coaches a lot of help in managing NIL strategies for players, on top of that, they have connections coaches may not. I agree with the reply, I think that WOULD be helpful and allow for Pope to also have more relationships with people around recruiting.
