Had a very interesting breakdown of the @LouisvilleMBB and @KentuckyMBB roster comparison with @romeybean tonight!
PG Shelstad vs Diallo (Push)
SG Wooley vs Wilkins (Lean Wooley)
SF Knox vs Williams (Lean Knox)
PF Folgueiras vs Momcilovic (MM)
C Bidunga vs Moreno (Bidunga)
Reserves (Big Lean UofL)
Analysis: It was very insightful doing the exercise and what we discovered is that the starting lineups are pretty close where the Cards got the nod in a lot of the matchups due to higher actual and potential on the defensive end. But the reserves is where the big disparity came into play where the Cats have hardly any pop off the bench. UofL has much more depth, talent, and potential.
do you think anyone is debating Uk lost the most recent game??? Just like there is no debate RofL lost the first game against Pope/PK.
The point is UK wasn't a top team last year. Had we been, it's highly likely PK would have lost that game since he's never beaten a really good team. Suck on that tit.
Louisville fans talking about Mark Pope's "job security" crack me up.
Pope beat more top 15 ranked team than any coach in college basketball his first season.
Pat Kelsey is 0-9 against kenpom top 20 final rankings. He has NEVER beaten a team ranked in the top 20 at seaoson's end.
2024-25 losses to KenPom top 20:2024-25 losses to KenPom top 20:
Tennessee (~#4) — Loss
Duke (~#2) — Loss
Kentucky (~#12) — Loss
2025-26 losses to KenPom top 20:
Duke (~#2) — Loss (home)
Duke (~#2) — Loss (road)
Virginia (~#7) — Loss
North Carolina (~#12) — Loss
Arkansas (~#18) — Loss
Michigan State (~#10) — Loss
@WHIP_SCENT Save this quote? Dude, this quote is hilarious. My wife's English is better than yours and she's colombian.
UK wasn't top 20 last year. Sorry. Pat Kelsey has lost to every top team he's played. 0-9. suck balls if that don't make you happy.
no, they jump because they have 2 years of working on their weaknesses. Year 1 they get to do what they want. Year 2 defenses prep for them as they are asked to do more in the offense.....year 3 they have much more in their bag. Take away their best 3 moves and the 4, 5 and 6th moves have gotten to be just as good. You cant take away everything
No sir. Not at all. Biggest myth fans say about mid majors. The talent gap is nowhere close to insane. In fact, it's much closer than most fans seem to realize. For every Wooley (your point, not saying I agree with it) there is an Antonio Reeves, Koby Brea, Amari Williams...etc. Not to mention Wilkins had some of his biggest games against the top teams in the nation. I agree with none of what you said.
@MeManBoy0@YouTube Nah , no knock to Alex but almost every player who has big freshman years at mm struggle in their second year a bit more . The talent gap is insane . Adrian Wooley got whatever he wanted in CUSA, was a role player year 2 at Louisville . But they tend to bounce back year after
Lots of players hit their stride their 3rd year....it's more about maturity and upskilling than anything else. Even players who stay at the same team see a huge jump year 3. Milan at ISU saw that. it has little to do with moving from mid to high major. Uk has 3rd year guys make that jump all the time as well
I think Travis is way off with his Alex Wilkins take. The guys is gonna be very very good this year imo. The way he scores translates.
Kentucky's Roster Rebirth: How Milan Momcilovic Shocked College Basketba... https://t.co/XITl5AwJi5 via @YouTube
@sa30961@YouTube I never said no effect. I said very little effect for a player capable. I did this exact thing at a high level for 23 years man..this is exactly what I was paid for
@sa30961 because you are attributing the "sophomore slump" to a move up in competition...which is not accurate. I'm making the point that it isn't a jump up in talent level that causes the sophomore slump...it's teams having tape on what a player does well and stopping that.
@sa30961@YouTube you are attributing it to increased competition.... and tis probably because you have no real experience in the space..... my last point is a fact btw
@sa30961@YouTube what you are describing is why we call em "sophomore slumps"......teams have game film and scheme to slow em down. it's not because of the move to a bigger program.
@RedBirdRize Agreed. and every game is a new chance for PK to show he can beat a really good team. So far he hasn't . He's beat a lot of quality teams...but no really good ones. That's an issue IMO.
The last time Louisville Basketball beat a team that ended up top 20 in kenpom was 77 months ago
On January 18, 2020, Louisville defeated #3 Duke 79-73 at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
sit down Tard fans. Beat a decent team before you start talking shit....lol
