I keep seeing people talk about “bending the rules” for Caitlin Clark
Can someone explain what rule is being bent? Should a fist to the throat be a common foul? Is that the argument here?
What really cracks me up is when extremely high earners break down their spending and they’ll start by saying something that we all agree is an unavoidable burden like “ya know, taxes take almost 50% of that 10 million right off the top” and you think for a second you’re going to be able to empathize in some capacity then they start giving examples of the most absurd, unrelatable, borderline hedonistic ways they spend money. “After that I’m left with just 6 million and my dog’s masseuse runs 12k a month and the guy who cleans my shark tank is another 15 and then of course the live-in sommelier isn’t cheap as you can imagine, not the good ones anyways. People don’t realize that 10 million just doesn’t get you what it used to”
“It’s actually hard to keep my millions,” is never going to get an ounce of sympathy from me, man.
People out here every single day choosing between gas in the car and milk in the fridge, I can’t stand seeing this cry me a river bit from pro athletes every single offseason.
This might be the most difficult cultural adaptations yanks have to make to truly join the global football family: we don't care about celebrities in the stands. The cameraman's job is to locate and then zoom into international baddies whenever play is stopped.
Not even a week later and we have a repeat of this with Ponga, except he hasn't gone off at all. Love league but fuck me, they really do deserve to be sued into nonexistence the way NRL plays God with their players health. #origin
I've never been a fan of the punishments available in CS.
A coach supposedly has been making "repeated violations" during a tournament, their opponents still lose rounds or are at a disadvantage but see no "benefit" to repercussions of him now being banned from the rest of the tournament - they're already eliminated!
Multiple warnings? It should be more along the lines of a single first warning, and following that if a coach makes hand signals during a round, simply +1 round to the opposition, double it for the next, etc Take $1000 away from all players on the offending team, whatever.
Make the punishment meaningful in terms of the ongoing match, not retroactively after they've already gotten away with winning!
Independent doctor taking literally 10 minutes to send Randall for a HIA after he was clearly rocked is all kinds of disgraceful. "Duty of Care" kinda means nothing huh #NRLBroncosTitans
Its insane that Harry Kane has had the second greatest scoring season in terms of Goals per 90 (1.18) than any other player besides Messi in 2011/2012 (1.19). Better than Ronaldo, better than Lewandowski, better than Benzema, better than Suarez.
Historic numbers.
This is the dumbest imaginable rule.
So basically, it's totally fine for OKC to land three #1 overall picks in a row, if all their picks come from other teams....
But if the lowly WIZARDS land two #1 picks in a row, that's a threat to the competitive balance of the league?
tell me how an ~indy game~ that dropped out of nowhere, got perfect journo scores and can not only afford a fully licensed soundtrack but also fancy goodie sets for redditor "content creators" is anything but an industry plant
If you are one of the people who until even the last few years was fine with group stage Bo1s I have zero interest in your opinion about LEC franchising.
You don't have ideas. You just pick from a menu of whatever is trendy.
g. Pobre Isack (y Yuki, y Lawson, y Checo, y Gasly, y Albon, y Daniel)
Finally feels like the HLE that was promised after underwhelming relative to the roster’s strength in previous iterations.
They’ve also developed a really different style with Kanavi compared to the rest of the LCK. It’s a great time to watch Korean LoL!
Another problem in League's worldbuilding is that it's inherited a backlog of disconnected champions.
Regions didn't even have good connections, Ahri didn't have a story with anyone! Changing to be connected was a 180, which is crazy whilst retaining every champion's stories.
Assassins being pushed out of mid over the years is one of the worst things to ever happen to pro league.
They’ve been kept intentionally weak because players find them frustrating to play against, but I think that’s due to lack of education on how to survive assassins.
