After their swing around the far side of moon, Artemis II mission specialist Christina Koch shared a message with NASA’s Mission Control on on behalf of the crew.
"We will explore, we will build, we will build ships, we will visit again," Koch said. "We will construct science outposts, we will drive rovers, we will do radio astronomy, we will found companies, we will bolster industry we will inspire, but — ultimately — we will always choose Earth, we will always choose each other."

This is a heartbreaking attack. And it does make me fear for the world my Jewish sons will grow up in.
If a significant portion of Americans metabolize their legitimate anger towards the government of Israel into resentment against Jews as a whole, that is genuinely a more perilous set of affairs than Jews in this country have faced in generations.
Which is why it’s so dangerous that mainline Jewish organizations have spent years insisting unequivocally that “Israel” and “Jews” should, in fact, be conflated. It’s the same rhetoric Nick Fuentes uses—but it’s arguably even more dangerous when it comes from the ADL’s Jonathan Greenblatt.
The logic of Zionism rests heavily on the claim that Jewish safety necessitates a Jewish state. It is largely this desire—to protect our people, whom history has proven need protection—that has led so many national and local Jewish institutions to continue backing the Israeli regime, through apartheid and genocide and more. But this approach is self-defeating. Tying the honor and reputation of our people to the rogue government of an ethnostate is not making us safer. On the contrary, it’s making American Jews more vulnerable to the kind of antisemitic mass politics that we haven’t had to worry about in this country for a long time. That's what my Jewish sons have to look forward to. And it’s not going to change until our mainline Jewish institutions start owning up to the danger they’ve created for all of us and start demonstrating, through their words and deeds, that “Israel” does not, in fact, equal “the Jews.”
While the Nazis' attempt to exterminate European Jewry is uniquely horrific, it is wrong to ignore or downplay the Nazis' genocide of other peoples. The Nazis killed nearly 6 million Soviet civilians, 3 million Soviet prisoners of war, and 2 million Catholic Poles. They exterminated half the global population of Roma. They murdered gay and trans people, and sent disabled people to gas chambers.
It is not "abuse" to remember the non-Jewish victims of the Nazis, and nor is is it disrespectful or hurtful to Jewish victims and survivors. On the contrary, if "never again" is to mean anything at all, we must remember them and vow never to allow such atrocities to be repeated for any group of people.
We honor the life of Claudette Colvin, whose courageous refusal to surrender her seat as a teenager in Montgomery, Alabama was one of several acts of resistance that challenged segregation before the Montgomery Bus Boycott. Ms. Colvin later became one of the plaintiffs in Browder v. Gayle, the federal case that reached the Supreme Court and led to the end of bus segregation. Her life reminds us that progress is shaped not only by moments, but by sustained courage and truth. May we honor her legacy and continue the work of justice.
With great sadness, we received the news of the passing of Eva Schloss (née Geiringer), an Auschwitz survivor.
Eva was born on 11 May 1929 into a Jewish family in Vienna. In 1938, her family fled to Belgium and later to the Netherlands. She lived in the same apartment building in Amsterdam as Anne Frank. The two girls, only a month apart in age, were sometimes playmates between the ages of 11 and 13.
In 1942, both girls went into hiding in an attempt to evade the persecution and arrest of Jews in Amsterdam.
In May 1944, Eva’s family was captured by the Germans after being betrayed by a double agent within the Dutch underground and deported to Auschwitz. Her father and brother did not survive. Eva and her mother were barely alive when they were liberated by Soviet troops.
After the war, they returned to Amsterdam, where they reconnected with Otto Frank, whom Eva’s mother later married.
Eva eventually settled in London, where she married Zvi Schloss. She authored several books and was a co-founder of the Anne Frank Trust in the United Kingdom.
Eva Schloss passed away on 3 January 2026.
People need reflection.
I regret not having more time with you. Your undeniable beauty and talent were not of this world, and a presence not of this world needs protection in a world that covets light and the anointing of God. You sir, moved us, stirred us, inspired and even intimidated others to action with your genius. Thank you for being a beacon of light to a generation and beyond who had no remembrance of the legacy that preceded us. Thank you for charting the course and for making space during a time when no similar space really existed.
You imaged a unity of strength and sensitivity in Black manhood to a generation that only saw itself as having to be one or the other. It is my earnest prayer that you are in peace, far away from selfishness, fear and/or controlling interests. Far from possessiveness, far from greed, far from manipulation, far from exploitation, far from intentionally designed chaos and that you Brother are in peace, in bliss and in eternal light and fulfillment with our Father in heaven. I Love you and I miss you. May God grant peace and shelter to your family, true friends and genuine appreciators, Brother, King.
Sinclair Broadcast Group says it will replace the ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ time slot with a Charlie Kirk special.
The company also calls for Kimmel to issue an apology to the Kirk family and donate to Turning Point USA.
Hannah Einbinder on saying “Free Palestine” during her #Emmys acceptance speech:
“It is my obligation as a Jewish person to distinguish Jews from the state of Israel. Our religion and our culture is such an important and long-standing institution that is really separate to this sort of ethnonationalist state.”
This is horrific.
What is unfolding is not just a policy change. It is a direct assault on life-saving medical progress. By suppressing mRNA research and halting the development of critical vaccine programs, we are denying people access to some of the most advanced disease-prevention technologies ever developed.
mRNA vaccines are no longer just about COVID.
They are now being developed to prevent cancers like melanoma and lung cancer, protect newborns from congenital infections like cytomegalovirus (CMV), and defend against global threats like avian influenza, RSV, HIV, malaria, Lyme disease, and Zika. Several of these vaccines are already in Phase 3 trials, and some were just years away from approval.
That future is now being deliberately dismantled.
This is not a matter of policy disagreement. It is a betrayal of public health, rooted in misinformation and fear. It disregards scientific evidence, abandons medical innovation, and puts millions at long-term risk. The cost will not be measured in dollars.
It will be measured in cancers not prevented, diseases not controlled, and lives not saved.
The consequences must be called what they are: preventable mass death on a national scale.
Liza Minnelli has outlived basic humanity. Congress has passed Trump's not-so "Big Beautiful Bill," which cuts taxes for the rich, raises the deficit, and leaves millions without healthcare or groceries.
