Quand Paul St-Pierre Plamondon affirme que ça coûte 4 milliards $ abolir la taxe carbone, il ment.

Cette fausse estimation provient du cas de l’Ontario qui s’est retiré de la Bourse du carbone en 2018. Selon le Bureau de la responsabilité financière de l’Ontario, ce retrait a entraîné une perte de revenus de la taxe carbone de 3 milliards $ sur quatre ans.

Cette somme ne représente donc pas une pénalité directe ou un coût facturé au gouvernement, mais plutôt une perte de revenus provenant des enchères de droits d’émission.

Autrement dit, si le Québec abolit la taxe carbone, comme le propose le Parti conservateur, il y aurait moins d’argent dans le Fonds Vert pour financer des entreprises millionnaires ou milliardaires, souvent étrangers, afin de plutôt laisser l’argent dans les poches des automobilistes.

Le slogan péquiste dans Arthabaska met l’emphase sur la « rigueur ». Il serait intéressant que @PaulPlamondon commence par en avoir.
