Thrilled to make an impact with our Rescue Team!

We're on a mission to combat bad actors in Web 3.0...

The numbers are not absolute ofc, hope you get the point

Wallet security, contrary to the popular belief, is not a one-size-fits-all strategy.

You may not really need a hard wallet if you assets are worth $1000 or less

And you'll need more than just a hard wallet if your assets are worth $100K

[BlockAudit @BlockAudit]

If you're leaving your private keys in plain text (notes, emails, cloud storage), you might as well post it on twitter 🤷🏻‍♂️

[BlockAudit @BlockAudit]

Hot take: the less your assets interact with Bridges and Oracles, the safer they are.

These protocols are the most vulnerable to attacks in crypto, as they often rely on complex smart contracts and external data sources.

[BlockAudit @BlockAudit]

if you wanna triple check your wallet security, here are some tools you may wanna check out-

1. @blowfishxyz
2. @PocketUniverseZ
3. @CoinsDogroup

which ones do you use or recommend?

[BlockAudit @BlockAudit]

it's no rocket science to keep your crypto safe

1. use reputable wallets
2. verify smart contracts
3. beware of phishing attacks
4. use hardware or paper wallets to store private keys
5. use an authentication app for 2FA
6. pay attention to all dApp permissions

that's it! 🤷🏻‍♂️

TLDR: We recovered $448,556.5 worth of $HYPE tokens for a compromised wallet that was eligible for the @HyperliquidX Airdrop.

The full story:
A hacker gained access to the client’s wallet and took out all the funds from all the chains except $HYPE. Why?

[BlockAudit @BlockAudit]

The compromised wallet (0x0a8...75ac) was on the verge of losing its funds, but our swift and calculated intervention changed the game.

Timely response is critical in security incidents. Good job @sandraleow & @KaitoAI Team

Stay cautious—Yu Hu & Kaito’s X accounts are compromised, but no KAITO wallets are affected.

[Sandra @sandraleow]

*IMPORTANT*

Yu Hu & Kaito’s X accounts have been compromised.

There has been no compromised KAITO wallets.

They have waited for Yu Hu’s timezone (where he’s asleep) to do it - please ignore.

We’re working to get them back.

I’ll update here.

If you're facing a similar problem, don't hesitate to reach out. We're one text away if you've been hacked and/or lost funds.

The only thing we DON'T help with is when your funds have already been transferred to another account.

Back in 2018, a seasoned trader emailed his private key to himself instead of writing it down.

For "security" reasons, he altered the last 5 characters. What do you think happened?

He forgot the characters and lost access to $37,500.
But that's not the end of the story - 🧵

[BlockAudit @BlockAudit]

Our script systematically generated private keys, matched them to the Ethereum address, and compared results to the original wallet address.

After relentless attempts, we regained access to the lost $37,500! 💰🎉
