@malinolf They snuff out the butt of their cigarette and head inside, posture relaxed. The tail wagging put a big smile on their face, they absentmindedly go into the hallway closet, getting out a blanket and pillow and shaking out what little dust was there before setting it on the couch.

"Oh, well. It's got some chemicals in it that make you feel calm, Feels kinda soothin’. But It smells like shit, it's bad for you, and it's hard to stop. So you're better off finding it gross."

They exhale another cloud of smoke, the nicotine further relaxing them into the cold wood they were leaning against. This all went better than they could've expected.

"Those look like they fit, I know it's just some oversized stuff but I hope it's comfortable."

"I'm outside having a smoke, your clean clothes are by the bathroom door. You find everything alright?"

They were happy to know he had figured things out alright, they hoped he enjoyed being clean.

@malinolf Eventually while Briar was still in the bath Casey steps outside on the back porch, tucking a Marlboro red between their teeth as they are greeted by the cool night air. They lean against the door frame and light their cigarette, letting out a bloom of smoke into the night.

They shout back, a clear happy tone in their voice. That was a good first step with trust. Soon after they start cleaning up, hand washing the plates wiping down the table. They'd be lying if they said they weren't curious about briar and his origins. . .

They leave the bottles on the side of the tub and sat a fresh towel on the rack. After they get up and slip out of the door.

"You do the shampoo in your hair, this bottle and wash it out. Then you use the conditioner, this bottle and let it sit. After all that use this bodywash, this bottle and rub it all over yourself and I mean all over, just avoid your eyes."

@malinolf With a nod they pass him some honey suckle body wash, pine shampoo and honey scented conditioner.

"This is my usual, smell em and make sure you like em because you'll smell like it a while."

@malinolf "It's alright, you were scared I was scared. If I was armed I probably would've shot at you so consider it even. Now, you got any preferences on products?"

They gesture to the shelf, theres unscented, floral, and a bottle of. . . Half used dog shampoo.

@malinolf They give a nod and keep their hand under for 3 or so minutes before speaking again.

"Is this temperature good? I know it's warmer than the lake but the heat will help clear things out."

They glance around to what shampoo they'd give him, there were a few options. . .

@4RK1S5ICK They find themselves relaxing further, digging into their own food happily. The company was nice, they didn't know anyone in this town so they had spent every night alone since moving here until these. . . Mysterious folk started roaming the area. It felt strangely nice.
