[PRINCE BUSTER @PrinceBusterSka]

Today is therefore more than an anniversary of his passing, its a celebration of the ten years of an enduring legacy- and an opportunity for the world to remember the man who helped Jamaica find a new musical voice and then helped carry that sound across the globe.

As an artist, producer, songwriter, sound system visionary, entrepreneur and the Voice of the People he stood at the forefront of a revolutionary period in Jamaican Music. Prince Buster's Independence and creativity helped shape ska, rocksteady and reggae laying foundations that would influence generations of artist and contribute to Jamaica becoming one of the worlds great musical nations.

Prince Buster created music with personality, confidence, humor and a rude boy sound for the rudies with hits like Madness, Al Capone, One Step Beyond, Enjoy Yourself, Judge Dread, Hard Man Fe Dead, Big Five, Oh Carolina, Ten Commandments plus many more with an unmistakable Jamaican spirit.

Prince Buster's influence did not stop at Jamaica 's shores. It crossed oceans, cultures and generations. His music became a major influence on Britain's Ska revival and helped inspire artist and audiences who carried the sound into new era's. What began on the streets and in the studios and sound systems of Jamaica became part of an international musical movement.

So, on this tenth anniversary, we remember not only the man we lost, but everything he gave us.

Long Live the King of Ska!

LET THERE BE SKA FOR LIFE!!
