Probably NSFW, guess it depends on your job ๐
A little over 12 hours ago, we said hello to a tiny man with a lot of hair and perfect lips. He came into the world without too much trouble and we're all recovering well.
That awkward moment when the Bridgerton season 3 part 2 release date is the same day as your social security hearing and the count down is actually not helpful. ๐
"Everyone here is great! You're going to love them!" is probably one of the biggest red flags I hear in health care settings. Unless you have personally been in their care, don't even set the expectation.

Isolation is hard enough when you're alone, but it's so much worse when you aren't. Be thoughtful of your friends with children, if you want them around after they have them.

My 4 month old took over a hour to settle down to sleep. We bathed, fed, and rocked him. We played his lullabies. Nothing was settling him enough to sleep.... Until I put on my birth playlist, and Riot by @threedaysgrace came on. He was asleep after about 10 minutes. ๐
It's sad to have people in your life, who you love, who are bothered when you want boundaries. If a person doesn't want to love you with boundaries, that's not love. That's exploitation.

I had to advocate for myself today. It took really practicing what I preach, and it meant being uncomfortable. I shouldn't be in this position. But I'm hoping things can start to improve because I stood up for my needs.

@BlueMusings309 That's the problem with balance. We don't navigate intuitively through the neuronormative world, but by trying to figure out what the rules are, not understanding how fluid they can be. So we often fall into the trap of under- or overdoing it & decide not to do it at all.
We live in a world where you get shamed for posting too much on social media. Then there comes a point where you stop being comfortable sharing yourself. So eventually you stop even being able to do it at all. Anyone else relate?

I wish we had higher standards for postpartum care, especially when it comes to supporting the birthing parent. It shouldn't be expected and "normal" to be injured during birth.
When you experience #ChronicIllness, your life is a constant practice of processing grief and loss. If you don't, you will become bogged down by the disappointment that comes when wanting to accomplish something, but your body does not allow it.
