@PresidentBlumph As for the man who was charged, I think that shines more of a light on how our judicial system fails time and time again and stresses the importance of not making the same mistake yet again.

By all means, I’d advocate for revisiting those cases.

@PresidentBlumph Putting someone who needs clinical supervision into a place that’s ill equipped to handle them jeopardizes the safety of the staff, other inmates, and can hurt the person being imprisoned. (I.e. this would invoke cruel and unusual punishment)

@PresidentBlumph As someone who would defend the principle of the 2nd which would facilitate such an act would point out, their arguments have no standing on the concept of principles that constitute that right.

So whether it be 19th amendment repealers or genuine crazy people defending her.. 🤷‍♂️

Statistically, you have a much greater chance of being released from prison after a murder conviction than you do a mental health facility, which is as bad if not worse than described, for the same crime.

However, statistically you have a much easier time being released from prison than on of these institutions

Institutions had release conditions 80 years ago. Saying institutions released people 80 years ago doesn’t mean we release people for the same reasons today.

@Jfignation @the_matt @InsiderWire Very few if any are ever released from those institutions. Even if they are, most times doctors recommend placing the person in a correctional facility for supervision anyway.

Almost all prisoners who’ve seen the other side would rather not go back to those institutions
