I was reminded the other day of the importance of picking up the phone and actually talking with the human being on the other end of the line instead of relying on endless email exchanges.
We've been partners with @dwe_ai for years now. There was an issue related to the manufacturability of one of the products that we supply to them - an issue that we have been trying to solve for close to a year now. Well, we finally got on the phone (Google Meet, actually, but you get the point) with Cynthia Do over at DWE and in the course of about three minutes of conversation, we arrived at a solution that benefits DWE, us, and our mutual customers.
Chalk up another win for good old-fashioned human-to-human conversation.
We're really good at COLORS and CUSTOMIZATION.
Our unique underwater cable construction method allows us to use a wide variety of bright colors (either transparent or opaque) for the cable jackets. Our standard cable jacket color is black, but don't hesitate to ask for something different. It'll make your system both easier to use and nicer to look at!
We also do a ton of custom jobs, like these coaxial bulkhead connectors with color-coded SMA terminations. We can't do it all, but when a customer asks for something custom, we try our best!
Anyone out there want a low-cost underwater fiber connector? We have one in the works. Once we make a few tweaks to the design, we hope to have it for sale on our website in a month or two.

Customer spotlight and an awesome story:
SyERA (https://t.co/V4yd0cwPcp) is a long-time partner of ours in France. Their V'ger is a specifically designed ROV for inspection of a very long, flooded gallery (over 10 km). It was entirely designed and produced through a partnership between the SyERA and Reeds companies. It is equipped with sensors that allow it to automatically center itself within the gallery, and with 8 cameras and 16 flashes to photograph an entire section of the tunnel in a single pass.
After a first mission that was a complete success (inspecting a 7 km flooded gallery in less than 3 hours ) the ROV was lost during a second test in a gallery just over 10 km long. They now know that it was unable to escape because it became trapped by a piece of rebar protruding from a debris field.
Due to the complexity of a rescue operation in this kind of environment, V'ger remained submerged for almost three years, at a depth of approximately ten meters.
SyERA was finally able to mount a rescue operation this year and recover the vehicle. None of the waterproof enclosures and none of the numerous Blue Trail Engineering Cobalt connectors leaked!
