Then you should be explaining it’s about increasing people’s choice, rather than repeating the misinformation. If those that don’t need to drive don’t, the roads are free’d up for those that have to drive. With 15 minute neighbourhoods you can drive from any location to any other
@TorstenBell I’m skeptical a majority of those renting are in a position to buy. Young people are back living at home saving, and will then purchase, not freeing up the rental market leading to a squeeze in rentals for those who cannot buy
How on earth can this road building scheme be badged as giving cyclists quicker journeys, and part of the £2 billion improvements including ‘safe and continuous cycle routes’ https://t.co/DR2Xad2pPM
@MrsA4boys@BCPCouncil How on earth conducting routine maintenance achieves ‘levelling up’ I do not know. Like the rebuild of the A338 funded through the LEP to achieve ‘economic growth’ by just maintaining status quo 🙄
The affordable housing shortage is expensive. The Housing Benefit bill is now somewhere in the region of £30bn. That's more than is spent on many govt departments. Much of that cash goes to private landlords.
.@sarahoconnor_ nails it . Our high welfare bill is rooted in low pay, high housing costs and poor health. Making people struggling to get by poorer, is both wrong and wrong headed. It won’t work and it will mean misery to millions. https://t.co/pb4NqUVGiJ
It’s a very bad look that a health secretary who voted against gay marriage (on the grounds gays can’t have families?!) is now going against expert advice to procure vaccines for a disease that overwhelmingly affects gay men.
